Would WW1 or WW2 or any other major war in history have happened if there was no religion?

Would Adolf Hitler have murdered so many people if they were just people and not Jewish as well?

They would just have found another reason to group like imperialism and nationalism which contributed to the first world war or political ideals like the second world war or fight over land and resources like all wars. Neither ww1 or ww2 had much to do with religion.

Religion, skin colour or whatever else takes ur fancy us humans just like to beat the **** out of each other for no particular reason. I remember a cop saying to me years ago that we are pretty much the only beings on the planet that maim or kill for no apparent reason. The rest do it for food or territorial reasons. Religion is just another bullsh1t excuse.

No. Wars are tribal. Fighting for control and resources. Religion can be a trigger but if it wasnt religion it would be something else.

I'm not sure about there being less wars, but there certainly would have been fewer. The intensity and endurance of many wars would undoubtedly have been less as religious conviction gave a sharper edge to many fighters. Nevertheless, the vast majority of so-called religious wars were wars of economic and political rivalry first and foremost.

Religions provided a sense of purpose and structure to society for a lot of regions, it could've had the opposite effect but who knows.

Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot managed to kill millions just fine without getting religion involved. It's a devotion to an ideology that makes your followers think they are right and you are wrong and worse than dog**** rather than religion per se that is the problem. He did. A lot of the people carted off to death camps weren't Jewish - they were everythign from gay to mentally disabled to simply not productive his vision of the Ubermensch.
