Why so few interracial relationships in Ireland?

There's a lot of relationships between Irish and other Europeans (Spanish, English, Polish, French etc..), Americans and Canadians but I seldom see between Africans or Asians compared to the UK.

Is it an issue with racism or just Ireland hasn't been open to multi-racial immigration long enough like the US and UK.

You are right, I never saw Africans going out with Asians.
    Raysism rears its ugly head

From experience I can say the OP is wrong, we are not racist and in fact I know more friends here married to foreigners than Irish with Irish.

Living over in the US. Plenty of mixed race couples here but have to say Asian men get a rough go of it.

The Irish tend to stick to other Irish people when abroad or at home. At least outside Dublin, so many keep the same friends from secondary school and/or college for life. That doesn't seem to be the case for other nationalities.

Have one walk around Dublin city centre...

What I see everyday is Irish men with Filipina women, Korans, some blacks, Brazilians and eastern Europeans.

It's so much more noticeable than just a couple of years ago.

I myself am dating a Filipina. I'm simply not attracted to Irish women.

I've even bizarrely noticed some Irish women dating Filipino men. And many Irish women dating black men.

    Multicultural Ireland is here!

If there are less interracial relationships, and I don't believe that to be the case, then it's probably because the percentage of people of African and Asian descent in Ireland is still really low compared to other countries.

People with African decent are more integrated into countries like American, France, UK, they haven't been in Ireland that long. Give it time & im sure this will change but its a strange thing to think about.

You're obviously looking in the wrong place or, more probably, not looking at all.

There are many mixed race families around here - African/Irish, African/eastern European, Asian/Irish, etc.

    Irish/British.

I'm into something exotic..Asian, Latina etc. Although, I don't think I could get in great with a Latina personality wise. Dating a Filipina is Kirk dating an American.. American accent and American culture. Only difference is the added exotic looks.

Yes, I got that. That being said, people who post things like "I'm not attracted to Irish women" are looking for a rise and an excuse to bash Irish women

In the main people are attracted to their own race/religion.
Also easier to form a relationship based on commonality.
Muhammad Ali believed whites should stay with whites, Black's with Black's etc.
I'm sure their is an inherent bias when picking a Life partner assuming people want their children to look like themselves

I see tonnes of mixed raced kids around so there must be a few.

    Back on track ...

Do you ever think it just might be because some other races might not like Irish people?

Why do the Irish have to be making all the decisions all of the time eh? Could that be a type of reverse racism maybe. I dunno.

Some of the interesting threads from the OP

Why so few interracial relationships in Ireland?

Why do people self-segregate a lot by gender in Ireland?

Does Ireland have a drug problem or not?

Why are there more attractive women at airports and hospitals?

Hhhmmm I think I'm detecting a theme here tbh....

Is this something that we're known for? I've been in the UK for 10 years now and whenever I've mentioned a girlfriend someone always seems to ask "Is your girlfriend Irish as well?". Always found it very odd.

I live in Malaysia and have a Malay boyfriend.

As for others not liking Irish, not true here in Asia. Be beating them off with a stick I do and even got through an issue at immigration here because the guy likes white women and I flirted a bit

For the record I am a fat oul wan so it's not like am some hot young thing.
