Debt free - fai has made a profit the last 10 years in a row.

I have not responded to you for a variety of reasons but I had to pull you up here .
Are you actually serious ? You clearly have absolutely no idea about the FAI and their finances , and it proves you are either taking the p*ss or have suffered Stockholm syndrome at the hands of honest John .

Correct me if I’m wrong here but my understanding is that as a taxpayer funded organisation the FAI needs to publicly advertise any employment opportunity.

This did not happen for Delaney’s new role.

Therefore the FAI, under Delaney’s control, failed to uphold a basic commitment in return for over €2,000,000 a year from the taxpayer.

For those claiming how great Delaney is, look at the growth in revenue over the last ten years in the FAI, GAA and IRFU.

On this, the FAI, for which Delaney held responsibility for, and for which he was paid more than his counterparts at the GAA and IRFU, Delaney for some unknown reason was paid a higher salary (plus all his perks) and performed miserably.

He has failed on every front bar lining his own pockets and engaging in parish pump politics.

A gombeen man for gombeen people.

What about his promise the FAI would be debt free by 2020?

His Mismanagement of tickets giving to mates instead of fans for Scotland, LOI?

Just an answer on them 2 questions will do

Debt free - fai has made a profit the last 10 years in a row.

No idea what you're on about for no.2 what does scotland/loi mean?

The FAI are not debt free! He stated they would be by 2020

The ticket fiasco over Scotland away game? It was well known

    The LOI, his problem child?

    Oh no Noelie!

"claims Mr Rock texted Mr Delaney in November last year saying he was “happy to push back against” a proposal from Social Democrats TD Catherine Murphy for the then FAI chief executive to appear before the Oireachtas Transport, Tourism and Sport Committee."

"Independent.ie understands the text messages were detailed in a letter from Mr Delaney to the FAI’s interim chief executive Rea Walshe"

    Where is the hypocrisy?

Sorry, didnt see bit about the text message, juts thought this was about aksing for tickets which is perfectly fine imo

The next CEO will be appointed the same way Delaney was i’d imagine.

That's not the argument - but carry on.

A few questions in addition to those raised already.
    How much are/were:
    The Grant Thornton Review.
    The Mazaars Review.
The legal action intended to stop reporting on this in the first instance.

What are the terms of reference of both reviews?
Who authorised and was aware of the legal action?
Why was the legal action undertaken?
Why did the association not seek the 100k elsewhere?

Who authorised the establishment and funding for a new post within the FAI?
Were standard hiring procedures followed for filling of this post?
When did the board authorise this new post?
What is the acticipated renumeration set at for the new chairman?
Why was a rental payment, undisclosed until recently, part of renumeration for the CEO.
Do other staff members receive payments outside of standard salary?
Will be interesting to see if any of the above questions are asked/answered tomorrow.

Wonder how the Rock story ended up in the media? Who would have motive to get some payback for leading the charge against the former CEO? :)

i think this requires a party who was interested in this role to speak up

Are people on here defending the FAI board and JD? Like seriously?

Same people who copy and paste a statement they were told to post i guess.

Very interesting that he thinks he can't explain the loan without breaking the in camera rule. Adds another layer of intrigue to the loan

Shocking stuff from Noel Rock if true. Hard to know who you can trust in this country.

Obviously a FG TD using their status to look for tickets and in return helping out Delaney when he was under the spotlight.

You’d think someone on 90k a year and the rest at the taxpayers’ expense could look after himself.

No it doesnt, he hid the money and the rent the FAI were paying.

he is ****ing screwed in the high court regardless of the FAI ****e.

Sad thing is his kids are old enough to read this and understand he fcuked them and their mom over.

It says Delaney himself sent details of the texts to the interim FAI CEO.

Pretty funny actually as Rock has been falling over himself criticising Delaney :pac:

Roy Keane was right about Delaney all those years ago - going on about the integrity of the game - I remember back before Saipan when all the blazers including Delaney flew first class

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,132 ✭✭✭✭Cienciano

Giles has been consulted on most of the recent Ireland manger job openings by Delaney. JD is also involved with Giles charity so they must get on fairly well

Looks like journalists are asking the same questions

Until I see screenshots I'm taking this with a pinch of salt considering the source effectively is delaney and it'd be very handy for him if people turned on Rock a bit before tomorrow

Suits in first class, players in economy. Who booked the flights? None other than our pal delaney. Sure the footballers are hardly the important people at a football match are they, the prawn sandwich brigade are.

The state of Noel Rock going for the Bertie Ahern “I can’t recall” defence.

FF/FG shysters one and the same thing.

It's seems to be a non story.

The loan issue was only revealed in recent weeks. Noel Rock is not precluded from asking questions about it because he sought tickets long before.

O’Keeffe in the same boat on the committee, their integrity to ask questions, hard questions, is compromised, both should be taken out of the committee
