She would need to get past Bercow. To do this she would need either sufficient support from the House which isn't forthcoming or a substantial change to the WA which the EU won't be accommodating. I don't see what maneuvers are available on her end to contort it to get through for another vote.
She could bring a motion for her deal including a confirmatory referendum, and whip for it. This would almost certainly pass the house and it would be the most democratic way of doing it (especially if there is a remain option on the referendum)

Except May is inexplicably opposed to the concept of allowing the people to decide the future course of their country for generations to come.

She seems to prefer a crash out than a referendum, even if it's a referendum on her own deal, which she pretends to believe is good for the UK.

The draft law will only oblige May to request an A50 extension. It can't (obviously) oblige the EU to grant it, and I don't think it even attempts to oblige May to request it in a way that makes it likely to be granted.
We've seen May already deliberately request an extension that she knew that the EU would refuse to grant. May has already been found in contempt of parliament, she has no problem with doing the same again and requesting an extension that she knows won't be granted.

May is in her end game. She wants the clock to be run down, and to force parliament to vote for her deal to avoid no deal (or no brexit, she's playing both sides against each other, in plain sight too)

She's still afraid to upset the ERG, even though they have been proved to be a busted flush.

Some light entertainment on Sky News with Kay Burley and Beth Rigby talking nonsense and laughing trying to kill time while awaiting the MPs to exit no. 10.

Statement from inside number 10 shortly. No General election is expected. Just more waffle probably. She might just insult everyone again

With apparently no cabinet member texting their source while they pop into the toilet. It's very tight lipped as to what's happening.

Even Boards is suffering Brexit exhaustion judging by the slowness of this thread today

It's ironic to see the comments section on the BBC page reporting the Macron/Varadkar meeting. It seems UK people have a huge problem with dialogue occurring between parties affected by Brexit and with them making strategic preparations.

That explains the massive mess in London then.

I'm getting quite fed up and bored with it myself these days. I won't manage another extension.

Is she likely to make a speech or is this purely party stuff? If she makes one, I can only expect pure nonsense.

Just seen on Twitter that the meeting has finished, with cabinet members having drinks while May writes her statement. Looks like Penny doesn't want her drink with everyone else...

Is Leo positioning himself as trying to save the UK in France today? Has the EU already decided that it is going to refuse an extension?

Some great entertainment where we are just watching a door. It seems that Penny Mordaunt had to go to another meeting apparently. Don't know the veracity of that statement though, said on Sky News by a reporter.

Edit, A ripple of excitement as the door opens, but its just a redshirt leaving...

I'm picturing a WWII scene in which they're resigned to the fact the battle is lost and crack open the whiskey while awaiting the enemy to arrive.

This seems to explain why there has been no movement from No.10 yet,

    https://twitter.com/SebastianEPayne/status/1113115914898214912

Looks like ministers aren't allowed to leave until May has made her speech.

Edit, John Redwood on now, stating that 95% of leave voters just want to leave. I cannot find the poll he is referring to and he is not asked about the figure. He also spouts the usual rubbish about projections not working out after the result and thus they should just leave and it will all be okay.

I saw that mentioned earlier. Apparently they can't even stop the trains right as the device was based on an old system that is no longer in use as a way to monitor train movement.

Foiled by those dastardly EU bureaucrats again.

The record of Tm and this government is that every time people on here start to think that finally they will come to their senses, TM simply doubles down.

On that basis Tm is likely to come out and declare that she is not waiting until 12th April and is leaving today.

It's like people trying to burn the EU flag but finding it hard due to EU rules making it harder to do just that.

So no lectern, so that means there'll be no speech, or she's off to the house of commons for it. Unless the lectern handler is still polishing it.

Are you looking at outside Downing Street? I think it will be inside again where she will make the statement as the weather looks terrible. I have seen a tweet state the seal was on the lectern and thus it doesn't look like a resignation.

True, likely in the room she's done it from before.

Why did SNP abstain on the CU option last night?
Revoke would be their preferred choice. Their fail safe plan is indyref2. Scotland is loosing population so free movement is kinda important and CU don't have that. ( It's one of the reasons why Scotland is better fit for EFTA membership than England )

It's not the final vote so no reason to back the least worst alternatives yet.

They have no reason to allow May to bully them into something they'd only prefer to no-deal.

The DUP would be the reverse CU ( or Revoke or No-Deal ) just as long as NI is the same as the UK, apart from human rights of course.
