De ligt (you need to get some groove in your heart) I also said one of Wan Bissaka, Sessengon and Chilwell. Volland would be perfect for Liverpool - he is consistent with 15/18 goals a season, he is flexible, he is not remotely fashionable and so cheaper than Werner or Poulsen plus he knows Firmino's game inside out obviously.

I don't trust players named Poulsen. Not since... the incident.

Would love Wan Bissaka and Chilwell but literally no point in singing either, there to close to age and level with Robbo and Trent m
But just below the level of our two so would spend the majority of the season on the bench not what either will be looking for,

Wan Bissaka would be perfect for United and Chilwell for Arsenal in my opinion , both need players in each area

That would be a mistake. City's squad is vastly superior to Liverpool's especially their choices in midfield and upfront.

Liverpool can't keep relying on VVD and the front three to bail them out every game. A top striker, midfielder and probably centre back are essential purchases.

City can call on Agüero, Jesus, Sane, Sterling, David Silva, Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Mahrez as major attacking threats yet they will buy more this coming summer and not claim Phil Foden will be like a new player.

    I agree.

Dont think Wilson is good enough despite some great strikes.

Seen a bit of him at Derby & has been poor recently. I would sell in the summer.

I just not so sure we will have a huge amount of money to spend judging by Klopp's comments

Spurs are probably an example of not spending. Lots of talk of of a great young team a few years back. Lost just Walker but have gone backwards since 2016. Probably doing well to stay in the CL places.

Watch it again he ducked out of it, he should be cleaning milner and anyone else around out of it
He shouted "keeper", but Milner didn't pull out. He wanted to head it clear. No point in him clearing Milner out with his own head.

His movement for the 2:1 with Sissoko and Son was class. In a split-second needed to decide who the biggest threat was (Son) so continually cut off the pass, forcing Sissoko to take on the shot when he clearly didn't want to. You'd just know the likes of Lovren would've dived in on Sissoko outside the box leaving Son a 1:1 with the keeper.

His interview on MOTD was class. Said he knew Sissoko was right footed so he closed the door to Son and make Sissoko shoot with his left.

Sessegnon would be shrewd IMO, depending on the price you can get him at.

£25m in today's market and he'd be an excellent option to have - better than what we have to cover the front positions.

If you shout keeper you have to get to the ball simple as that

He did, just not with his head, cause Milner didn't move.

I know he is young and playing in a poor team but I don't see the fuss at all ,

He is in no way better than Origi or Shaq at this moment in time ,

He ducked and was very lucky the ball hit him on the shoulder, he got away with it but could've been Alot worse

It certainly wasn't pretty but in the end of the day he was able to mange the situation
If Migs or Karius was in the same position you just know the ball would have some how ended up in our net ,

He ducked, cause it was going to be a head-to-head collision with Milner, cause Milner didn't move when Allison called keeper. Milner got away with it.
Allison wasn't at fault there, but he'd a few dodgy moments all the same.

How good has Matip been since the turn of the year guy hasn't got nearly as much credit he deserves

He's done well in and around our box. But he has let us down a couple of times when he marauds into midfield. His decision making yesterday directly led to VVD's 2 on 1, which was thankfully dealt with.

Sessegnon is never going to be a full back so if we're going after a young left sided player, Dwight McNeil is the guy. 19, quick and already looks like he won't be bullied and is good on the ball, and more productive than Sessegnon - 3 goals and 4 assists in 14 starts and 1 sub appearance.

We are told by lads in here that know the underage stuff that TAA is never going to be a full back either he is going to be a midfielder.

It would great to get top class young players that are versatile in two positions.

TAA has played fullback since he broke through at 17 and he'll very likely stay there with Liverpool as he gives us so much attacking threat. When does Sessegnon even play fullback? Whenever I watch them (not a lot) he's always left mid of left sided in a three attacking.

I know you siad one of but i dont think young english players are value when they wont even start! De ligt would a fantastic addition but dp se need another 60m centre half. We have 4 top quality centre halves. No other team can say that.
They havent played together for 3 years. Ypu could say the same for a lot of brazilain forwards. Poulsen would add something different,a presence that can score goals.

To be fair I think that's because Trent is rated so highly, You need more tools to play in midfield and full back is a way to get him game time ,

Some people still think he may end up in the middle,

Trent has always been far better at tackling and more aggressive than Sessegnon , Only question at full back can be positioning because he only played there in the first team so learning on the job ,

I think it was midway through last season when Fulham pushed him higher up the pitch, as a full back he started getting plenty of assists and was drifting higher up the pitch. They then decided to leave him up there, I think they were following the Bale prototype.

Was at the game yesterday, what a finish, the place went bananas! We really should have been more ahead in the first half and I thought it might come back to haunt us, almost did.

What a season so far. Almost at 2.5ppg was is incredible.

Have to say, I'm nervous about Saints away, more so than I was about yesterday.

Exactly it's been a while since he's been a regular LB, he's moving up the pitch not back and I can't see him wanting or being moved back either. I found this, out of his 20 starts, 3 at full back and one at what they call 'Defensive Midfield Left' which I assume is a wing back. He's even had two starts right sided forward and one as a centre forward!

Sessegnon in the Championship at the start of last season started as the left back as the season progressed he moved more into the wingback back left winger position.

He would be an ideal player to sign as he can play anywhere up along the left side and at 18 is still 6/7/8/9 years away from his peak and he is going to be a real deal player.

Any chance the Southampton manager will field a weakened team against us on Friday like he did against city?
    Ya probably not.

In fairness if Cardiff put out a team of their all time greats In peak physical condition they would still get battered.

Iirc correctly Newcastle rested a few when we played them.

Cardiff play Fulham in there game after they play us it will be interesting to see if Warnock decides to play the under 23's against us to give his players a chance against Fulham.

Won’t be able to afford to, they’ll need points like they do the City one, but ultimately it’ll be lose to Liverpool & relegated (mathematically)

By fielding the 23s midweek he is sending out the signal that the Burnley match is basically Cup Final.. lose and Relegated. It’s as simple as that.

Completely different scenario, it was Stephens day in a pile up of PL fixtures and loads of time to recover points wise.

Cardiff are at the every point counts stage. They are 5 from safety with 7 to play.

Fulham, West Ham and to an extent Watford recently have to have given them hope

Shirley Cardiff need to try at least to get a point. Just put 11 men in the box and never leave it. That could possibly get them a point. Leicester done it to us at home, restricted us to 3 shots on target by sitting very deep ,we had 75% of the ball and no where to go. Cardiff need to try that for their own sake.

There is always a chance, the Saints played away to Chelsea 3 days later and won the game so they might bear that in mind. We need to be that team that others bend over and grab their ankles for

Its getting to that stage where mid table teams will have nothing to play for, certain teams may concentrate their efforts at cups, some teams may rest against big teams to give themselves a better chance in other upcoming fixtures etc. Nothing we can do about it tbf.

I think we'll need to probably get at least 16 out of 18 from our remaining fixtures and hope that City's drop points at Spurs or/and United. I'm not sure the Cardiffs of the league will do enough to take points off City at the business end of the season. I dont see anyone else taking anything from them bar Spurs and United and even that is hope. I mean, of course you never know obviously, anything can happen but with 6/7 games left I dont think City will lose much focus against the mid - bottom half teams.

VVD has been given the all clear to play Friday night no issue with his ankle.
