Justin Sun and Tron are great. He’s such a conman and a bullshît artist, and really sums up the whole crypto space.

    As someone said on reddit:

There's a big prize draw with a Tesla as grand prize
    A winner is announced
    Winner rejoices
Tron Guy claims there was a computer glitch
Tron guy claims they did another draw and someone else won

Presumably the glitch was "The fake account we set up to win so we wouldn't have to give away a Tesla wasn't picked!"
The guy who was originally told he'd won the Tesla was compensated with a free ticket to some bullsh1t TRON conference :p

First prize is a ticket to the TRON conference. 2nd prize is two tickets to the TRON conference.

Seeing as none of you lads happy to jump on the bandwagon would never bother post this I guess I will. And it was posted several hours before a lot of your posts.

Your responses will be quite predictable, but anyway, it's there for some balance.

"I’ve happily decided to give away two Teslas to further my mission of creating transparency, reliability and openness about blockchain."

"On Twitter, the team used a tweet randomizer tool because Twitter does not have an official drawing mechanism. The team was unfamiliar with the tool and performed a number of test draws to understand how it worked, which has led to some misunderstandings about how we did what we did. We also were unaware there would be concern about the video not being live-streamed and that it would create ambiguity and controversy."

This is PR damage control 101, they and he knows they f**ked up and need to sort it out, it took hours for them to come out with this bull and I mean hours, my post was 10 hours ago, this post by him was 3 hours ago (cant do the roll eye emoji on my phone but they are in the back of my head mate)

What’s your outlook on the whole crypto space say over the next 5-10 years?

While I might not always agree with all of your points, outside of people who have invested in crypto, I think your views align with a lot of the general public in relation to this technology.

Yeah of course they ****ed up the draw but it wasn't a scam, plain and simple!

Can I borrow those rose coloured glasses there?

Does anyone remember late 2017/early 2018 there was that issue with the tron wallet where if you transferred tron to your wallet and back to their site again it was doubling, tripling and randomly increasing peoples holdings? No explanation for it,just people getting more tron,I did it 3 times and it worked for me.

Something seriously suspect about Tron and I believe it's been found that like 60% of Justin's Twitter followers are fake too

Edit: Fyi I believe in crypto it's just my opinion that TRON is a ****ecoin

You are obviously the type of person who ignores every progressive step Tron takes and jump on the bandwagon when something like this happens.

And re the Twitter followers, (not that I give a **** about them) it was actually half of the NEW followers he received since announcement of the Tesla competition that were fake profiles, not his overall total. But sure you can just leave that bit out!

It exposes that these "business leaders" (like Sun) are really just children with little or no concept of anything, who just were in the right place at the right time

If it were a real company or project, he'd be long gone

There's no such thing as bad PR. The more publicity about crypto that gets into the mainstream media the better. This was probably one of those things just to stir up a bit of attention for tron. It's all fake.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,991 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

Most people I know think crypto is a sham or a pyramid scheme. The fact that 70+% of ICOs actually turned out to be scams just underscores that sentiment

So I'd have to disagree, the bad PR is not doing crypto any favors. It has a bad rep for a reason.

Why? Because his team made a balls of one half of a raffle? They offered the 'false' winner an all expenses paid trip to San Francisco as compensation for their error and then after a period of reflection they decided to give him the Tesla.

But yeah, it's not a real project!

Because he's a moron. I've been following his tweets on and off for 15 months. It's one ****up after another. If it were a publicly listed company he'd be long gone.

From plagarised white papers to a propensity to cover this up - and ongoing shilling of TRON on social media, Justin Sun lacks credibility for sure. However, the one interesting thing about the project is the link up with Bittorrent as it could lead to significant adoption (potentially).

How do people feel crypto has progressed since say the highs of 2017. Forget about the massive price drops. Has there been much progress with adoption and use cases. The buzz seems to be gone from where I'm standing.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,991 ✭✭✭✭Dohnjoe

The "highs" of 2017 was mainly attention due to prices/gains

BTC hitting 1k again, 10k, 20k. Eth, XRP and alts rocketing up. Those gains weren't all tech related, but they are the ones that got headlines and as such caught interest, sparking bulls and mad FOMO runs

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,676 ✭✭✭makeorbrake

Crypto is progressing just fine - away from the 2017 hype. If it's dead, what would anyone be bothering with it for right now? And by 'anyone', I mean Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Galaxy Digital, ICE (NYSE/Bakkt), Nasdaq, Stuttgart Borse, Tagomi, Morgan Creek Digital, Fidelity, Six Swiss Stock Exchange, Facebook, Telegram, VK social network (Russia), LSE, TradeStation, IBM, Overstock and various entities facilitating the tokenisation of stocks, bonds, art, real estate, etc.

But there was a long list of people "interested" in the tech back 18 months ago but not too many entities have taken the plunge and adopted it in their business model. Well I know Pornhub adopted verge but that's the only one I can remember of any significance.

The likes of goldman sachs, jp Morgan etc. The battle cry from crypto enthusiasts has been that "institutional money" is just around the corner. It's always just around the corner.

Are you still selling price predictions?

No pal. Lost interest in it. I had an exceptionally accurate model but just lost interest in the whole space.

I had an exceptionally accurate model

If you did, you would be rich by now and you wouldn't be posting here anymore ;)

The only thing that's "always" is your latent negativity. All that I have listed have put millions into infrastructure. But I guess they're just doing that for the hell of it, right?

As regards the arrival of more broad-spread institutional investment, I'm sorry that it doesn't suit your timetable. Fidelity Digital Asset Services just went live. Fidelity being one of the worlds largest asset managers with $2.46 trillion under management.

    That's just one example.

    What long list of people?

Most if not all major (and non-major) financial institutions are involved in development/projects on blockchain tech, DLT, smart contracts. Either developing their own tech, or in conjunction with established crypto projects or using a specific crypto platform (e.g. Eth)

I dunno. I don't keep an eye on the space too much anymore. But I do suspect if I came back in 6 months time people would still be laying the ground work. Dev teams would be working on the eco system. That weird looking vitalik lad would still be tweeting about smart contracts but **** all will be happening. Same the 6 months after that.

It seems to me block chain developers have the answer they are still searching for the question though.
