Despite the obvious joke, Bitcoin has been doing very nicely since the 8th of Feb. Nice steady upward trajectory without the madness. I likey.

Yep, obviously it could lose all those gains within a few hours, but I’m cautiously optimistic that the downwards trend might have reversed.

I dunno. I don't keep an eye on the space too much anymore. But I do suspect if I came back in 6 months time people would still be laying the ground work. Dev teams would be working on the eco system. That weird looking vitalik lad would still be tweeting about smart contracts but **** all will be happening. Same the 6 months after that.

It seems to me block chain developers have the answer they are still searching for the question though.

Post #3383. You think those type of guys are wasting their time and money? They are taking it seriously (some of them after dissing it from a height previously). Perhaps its something you should consider yourself...i.e. the notion that it is sticking around...

2.06 billion Tether in circulation - nearly 15 billion of volume in the past 24 hours. 97% of bitcoin trades carried out using Tether. Something fishy is going on.

Time to update the thread to "Is anyone starting to become a bit excited?" :pac:

Tempted to sell a small piece now, if this is a Tether bump it should come back down and I can top up a little bit more. I hate having non round numbers in my wallets :)

Something fishy is always going on.

How do you come up with 97%?

Sell now and reduce your losses a bit.

I don't have any losses though I did sell 5% but it is just to buy back in and increase my holding. If I missed the boat and it keeps going up I'll still be grand with the rest rising.

My first BTC purchase was when the price was about €370. I'll leave it to your astonishing intellectual abilities to work out how much I have lost.

Good to see us back in mainstream media today. Is it time for a new thread? No worries at all now.

Nice one BNB is doing nice now if it keeps going I'll be selling next week with a tidy profit.

Several of the coins I bought as recently as this Xmas and January are up 200% to 500%, apparently according to certain posters here crypto prices are only going to zero and we can only measure from all-time-high

That aside, am still treating the recent rises with the usual caution

Do people think we are looking at a pump & dump or the start of a new bull run ?

New bull run. The near vertical nature of the increase this morning indicates that this is organic and natural interest in the tech and not market manipulation.

    Probably Wall Street money, Paddy.

Most likely. Its natural that they would use tether as a vector in to the markets.

Bitmex is fast becoming the place where shrewd and canny investors take on long and short positions in the burgeoning crypto market.

I think it may be time to FOMO in to this. Going to liquidate my pension pot and put some longs on TRON. We're heading to the moon Johnny.

No idea. That said, the alt market has been growing steadily since beginning of the year.

However this rise was very sharp and was led by BTC. On a personal level I am skeptical and still believe we're not out of the bear market yet, but it's crypto, anything can happen
