Never had a hit, all their songs sound the same, 3 chord bull****.

Ironically all they had was their image, lank hair and leather jackets.

Steps had multiple hits. Oasis used the same 3 chords. All U2 songs sound the same.

Fail to see any irony in having an image, hair or clothes.

    Oasis and U2 had hits.

    Number 1 singles and albums.

"Baby I love you" sounds the same as "Blitzkrieg bop"?

    Great band

I would play a song but it's half nine on a Saturday morning

Is the approval of the masses what makes a great band though?

Oasis used more than 3 chords.

All U2 songs don't sound the same. Does "Lemon" sound like "With Or Without You"? No it does not.

Not a fan of Ramones though. Ironically enough U2 are.

    Yes it does.

They would recycle their riffs, because Johnny couldn't play for sh1te.

Good live act ya in later years, but not a studio band.

Nah nah nana nah nah nah nana, they weren't overrated.

I disagree, I like them. They have their place in rock history.

They're a t-shirt brand, not a band. Silly internet man.

Were they ever rated highly enough in the first place to warrant a discussion such as this?

Rory Gallagher, one of the greatest axmen of all time is not in the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame but Johnny Ramone is?

    It's ludicrous.

Punk relies on three chords. If you don't like it, try another genre.

Never saw the hype with them myself if I'm honest.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

    Listen I like punk.

Give me The Clash , Sex pistols, the Heatbreakers any day over The Ramones.

Think of later bands also like Offspring, Green Day, Blink 182.

    Good playing and songwriting.

Meh bubble gum punks, I see a few weeks ago Johnny rotten and one of the Ramones members got into a spat at an interview they both were at, both bands seemed to have a bit of a rivalry as too who started punk rock.

Iggy pop and Johnny thunders would like to have a word with them..

Saw that , Rotten was pissed and abused Marky unfairly. Ramones predated The Pistols anyway so tht SPs have no claim over it.

Rotten claims that The Kinks in their garage phase were the origins of punk. Ray and Dave Davies as the Godfathers.

I would tend to agree with him.

    No impact eh?
Ramones released in 1976 and people like OP are still talking about it 43 years later...
