That's a great example of a reg question I have...

So between 87 and 91 there was no requirement for the EU flag or the county name as Gaeilge above the region number, but was it allowed to not have the hyphens between the numbers and the county letter? I can't seem to find confirmation anywhere in the SIs or anything.

Gonna be getting some made up and would prefer without hyphens (if legal) for the grim authenticity of 1990.

    Also, acrylic or metal?

Yeah, those number plates are totally legal and I would guess they have been on the car since day one. I have the very same on my Alto. Acrylic would be period correct for a 90s car; I’m not aware of anywhere that can still make decent copies anymore, most either get the font or size wrong..

I would recommend getting in touch with Eireplates and seeing if they can make them up

I've been on their website a bit. But I'll message them now. Cheers.

I’ve seen that Lexus about - older lady behind the wheel surprisingly!

That perticular Lexus has been owned by the same lady for donkeys years. IIRC it lives off the Tonlegee road.

    That around by the harbour?

I took a picture of that and a Fiat 500 a few months back but completely forgot to upload them here.

Boghall Road area mostly. I know the Fiat you mention - if it's the navy one that lives down by the Harbour - that gets driven fairly frequently

That's one of my favourite cars of all time, the 300zx twin turbo.
However that lexus above would vie very much for the "car for life" spot.
