It's not just you, I'm on UK access as well but only have the option to pay.

I have a FireStick - if I wanted to watch the Irish version of prime on it, is that possible? The builtin app seems to be aimed at the UK version - yeah I know I can probably get Amazon to change my locale but is it possible without doing so?

I think it's the other way around. If you're in Ireland with an Irish Amazon account, then it's aimed at your Irish content. There is much more content in the UK.

Farscape holds up well I think I'm binged most of season 1 in the last two days.

started watching New Amsterdam with my wife - absolutely loving it (about 6 episodes in). Some soppy bits and tropes in it, and a couple of amazingly hilarious bits in the first episode but overall, finding the episodes are gripping me with their stories.

Does anyone have streaming quality issues with the iPad app (I haven’t tried any other apps yet)? I’ve a reasonable connection speed of 70Mb but I find the quality of the videos a bit low.

I got a fire stick at the weekend and set it up last night. I just contacted support and got the region changed without problems. Very painless. Be polite. :)

I have to say I'm using Prime more than Netflix these days.

It's only free on Irish Prime Video, not the UK service.

Does anyone have access to watch The Widow? I'm with Irish Prime Video and don't at the moment? It's airing on ITV in April so seems a little strange that I might see it there first when I'm paying for this service.

Not for regular prime video you don't. You need to set up your account as a UK account. You only need UK billing if you want to buy or rent movies

I had changed my delivery address to the UK first (before talking to support). Not sure if that made a difference or not but worth a shot.

Halt and catch fire completely passed me by at the time - just saw it mentioned in an article recently. Would highly recommend, one of the best shows I've seen in a few years.

It gets better too as it goes on.

My son is watching it at the moment, no issues

Yeah back for me now too. Weirdly was giving me location errors and then righted itself.

Is there any "kids more" like Netflix?
Some of the stuff that comes up when browsing is not at all suitable for kids and I can't see any easy way to "hide" it.

Can somebody explain prime video to me? I've just signed up and it's not as straighforward as Netflix.

First of all, I don't even know the website to get to my prime video. When I go to www.primevideo.com it asks me to update my home location. I guess that's the american version.

So I googled prime video UK and this link takes me to a selection of videos: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-Video/b?ie=UTF8&node=3010085031. But I have to pay /rent a lot of them.

Basically what's going on. I want my free movies and series Netflix style.

You can install the prime video app on your TV, phone and tablet.

I have it on my phone and firestick. What about the laptop?

I'm not sure about that as I have Amazon UK. I can't remember how I got amazon on the PC when I was amazon Ireland. I would imagine it will be amazon.com or amazon.co.uk

If no one else answers here you can live chat with amazon and they will set you up

You to contact them via chat and tell them your location. They will then change it which will only take a few minutes and then sign in again and it should work. That's what I had to do

To access prime on PC you need to go to prime video.com

Has anyone else noticed Amazon putting ads for their prime original shows before they'll play anything that's clicked on?
I know Netflix has auto-play ads when you log into the app, but this "watch an ad before you can watch the show you want to watch" feels like the ads I've to sit through on YouTube before the video I want plays....

Happened to me during one night watching The Expanse but now seems to have disappeared again thankfully

Funny, it's the Expanse I'm watching too and have never noticed it before that!
