Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Big test of character now. Horrendous start and 7 points down after 2 minutes. Lets see what this team is made of.

Can I ask is there a set time for advantage, or is it done on how many phases they go through, ground taken up or where on the pitch it is, or the offence?

Wales had a long advantage there before the try. Ireland had one a minute later that seemed to only last a few seconds. These happens in most games. Is it at the referee's discretion or is there a point when it is definitely over?

Kearney presented with a gap and he steps out of it and into two men.

One was a penalty. One was a knock on.

Wales was penalty advantage as Ryan entered maul fromt he side in the ref's view. Penalty advantage generally allows teams to have a go at something then come back if unsuccessful.

Ireland's was for knock on. Generally only lasts for a phase or two.

Welsh scrum half scragged Stockdale and threw him off his stride a bit.

  • Registered Users Posts: 486 ✭✭Duggie2012

Ref playing poor advantage rule on 2 occasions there. Gave no real advantage to ireland.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Mr Reliable with a great tackle. Doubt he’d have the has to catch him later in the game but he did there and that’s all that matters.

Stockdale was slightly held up by Beard. Had he got 3 or 4 more yards without that Parkes would have been burnes.

George North is off after 8 minutes.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,076 ✭✭✭✭vienne86

North off, so back line will have to re-organise.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,615 ✭✭✭Dubinusa

    North hurt!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,219 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Wales with the double playmaking option now that have Biggar and Anscombe on.

Was he the one at the first maul? Thought it was Ryan.

Sound like Best is talking to the ref to suss out the issue.

We will see now if Ireland are actually up to it.

Advantage can be territorial or tactical. There is no set time or number of phases. Its open to ref discretion. Length of advantage will vary depending on where on pitch the penalty would be awarded.
