How many sides are putting out 5 teams?

    Clontarf, Wesley, Marys, Terenure, Barnhall?

    Are Lansdowne?

It is some achievement to field that many and stay competitive too.
    Wesley have 5, Barnhall 5, Belvedere 5, Tarf have 6, Terenure 6, Marys 6

On basis of the league results is what im saying they are.
In finals of metro 2/4/6 and could also be in metro1 final.
Quite far to say theyre strongest based on the success of each of their teams.
What other reasons would you say other clubs are stronger?

It's the fact that the definition of strongest club is really subjective. Do you base it off results from all teams? Something that has so many influencing factors in itself. If so every mens team in St Marys started this season in a division below the one they started in last season so does that make them the weakest? I wouldn't say so anyway, they still have a lot of teams, a senior team in AIL 1B, a good community around the club, they also have good links to 2 feeder schools, among numerous other things.

My point is just that to try label one club as definitely the strongest in Dublin is something you can't do, especially based off one seasons league standings, as there are so many different factors involved in what makes a club strong some which may be more important to one person than to someone else and there are many other clubs who would have perfectly legitimate claims to being the strongest club in Dublin in their eyes.

Some may say you have to be in AIL 1A, some may base it off number of teams, minis numbers, links to schools, trophies won, community feel, number of non playing members, player retention, player development, facilities, number of pro players, the list goes on there's so many factors and there isn't one club that can claim to have the best everything and every club probably has some claim to the title that they think to be the best claim.

TLDR: Wesley probably have a good claim to having the strongest junior teams on average this season but that's not necessarily the same thing as being "definitely the strongest club in the city".

Yeah it's very subjective really. For example Lansdowne have amazing facilties, good minis, lots of success at senior and J1 level but don't seem to have as good of a junior setup in terms of social rugby. Don't have any team in the equivalent of the old J4/5 leagues.

There's no club that has everything really.

Can't help but be impressed by the success being achieved at Wesley, great strength within their junior setup and their first team really pushing on.

Always been very hospitable when playing out in Donnybrook also, so can't begrudge them their success, fair play to them.

Does anyone know what the story is with the J4 cup?

Belvedere are down as getting a bye and as playing Clontarf. The winner of Tallaght v Blackrock is then due to face them in the next round in the top section.

I'm assuming this is just an error and the Winner of Tallaght v Blackrock will go straight into the semi-final.

you were quick on that. I was editing it to fix up the image and had deleted the post about a minute after putting it up. I don't have a twitter account to ask him on, the only one I have is our work account that I use and I don't think the company would be happy with that.

For arguments sake, if Barnhall had of made Metro 6 playoffs and won, could both of their teams play in Metro 5?

For Metro 1, does everyone but the relegated team just remain in that league or are they winners promoted to a different league?

    Cheers!

Barnhall would have to remain in Metro 6 I believe.

It's similar in Met 1/2. Wesley's J2s can't go up if they beat Rock. I dunno if Rock go up in that case or if Met 1 remains as is.

clubs can't have 2 teams in same division. A side who wins league and has another team in higher division doesn't get promoted
Winners of metro1 can't be promoted to another league. All bar relegated stay in metro1

What about the Wesley scenario that I posted? Would Rock go up even if they lose the league final?

No. Team who finishes second is promoted unless they also have a team in league above and if they do then noone is promoted

Number of clubs called up to explain discrepancies with their teamsheets.
Mainly cups but at least one of them concerns a league final.

All clubs know the Rules & Regs going into leagues & Play offs & cups but year on year the same thing Happens , Think going forward the penalties / sanctions need to be laid out beforehand & maybe that might put an end to it.
One senior club a few years back got follow up sanctions of all teams getting docked league points into the following season which laid down a big marker.

Any idea what clubs are involved?

Penalties/Sanctions in general are laid out beforehand through comp regulations are they not.
And i dont see it ending it. The same will happen as it always had regardless of regulations in place

No word on the clubs in question? Have heard consistent whispers about a number of clubs this season mainly in the leagues.

    How will we find out?
