It's my opinion, that the serial killer took both sulli and sm.
and wolves took BH and Liz.

Not if there’s only one set of wolves, if there’s two then it’s possible but I would say on the balance of probability it was the SK

And once we accept that as plausible, then its a small step to think that the sk is putting the frame on me. Loughc has already jumped at it this morning. So if sk took sulli and sm, that leaves bh and liz as wolf kills. See, it wasn't that hard to find more than 'zero basis for my assumption'.

Ok but you didn’t say any of that, now you’ve verbalised it it’s a start

    I think it’s a stretch

Happy to vote Barney for CL tonight though not ruling it out being a wolf move either.

@Barney: I didn’t win the bushtucker yesterday. My comment about passing on prizes was based off the Christmas game where that happened (as I said I think). I wasn’t even around for yesterday’s bushtucker. And not likely to be able to complete in today’s either.

Strange that whoever did win the bushtucker and passed the prize to Barney won’t say though.

So, let's find out where your head is at then, why were you willing to assume that the wolves took SM?

I know who won yesterday’s second prize. It was awarded to Barney. The reason I know this is because the prize was a shared secret hut for 24 hours with a player of their choice and he chose me. This expires at 12:30 today.

Barney stated that the mods told him that if either of us lied to each other there would be consequences. This was not confirmed nor denied by the mods. The room was empty and we had to create our own thread.

I have told him that I am not a wolf or SK and he has said same to me. As it was Barney who mentioned the lie mechanic, I cannot 100% trust him yet. Sorry Barney. The only thing I would say is if this prize is used again and it’s a good person who receives it, they can confirm the lie mechanic part so don’t hang Barney just yet if I die.

The person who won yesterday’s competition can confirm that Barney received the prize unless the two things are not mutual but seeing as duffman passed a prize to Trit its more than likely the case. Once again anyone can win a prize so it still doesn’t help working out alignment.

Mick was lurking and got slightly spooked about the whole prize thing yesterday evening. JP Liz needs to up her game along with crosstown and yosser. Mamof4 with her “I won’t be around for a while is that truth or lie?

Hope I’m here after 10 to discuss further.

Right, I won the second prize (from post 226) on day one. I didn't win it from the bushtucker trial, so I don't know why it was given to me.That is partially why I questioned QB so much because she was the one to offer the idea of giving a prize to someone else, which is what may have happened here. Alternatively it may have been because of my post number or that I was the first to use the word "evict" post munch.

My prize was to invite one person into a secret hut so that we could chat. I almost picked QB, but went for Strawberry Milkshake instead. Over the course of yesterday she managed to convince me that she is good (as am I). I'm not certain on that, so don't take it as gospel. I think yoss is bad based on his defence of QB last night but I doubt he's on the same team as QB.

Not much information for you but if I die I wanted you to know that myself and SM had shared a room at one stage.

    Barney92 wrote: »
Ah Strawberry, I'm glad you won me over in the end. I thought you were good when I picked you, but then I doubted myself. Thanks for the company.
    Barney92 wrote: »
Well we both planned on coming out at 9.59am.
    Mollyb60 wrote: »
You're forgetting that there's nothing that says Barney can't be a wolf just because he was in a room with Strawbs yesterday. Even strawbs seems a little unsure of him in her final post. The fact that he told her there'd be 'consequences' if she lied to him was too odd for my liking. It's a handy way for a wolf to try convince a NRV that they were on team village. "oh neither of us can lie in here or there'll be consequences. So yeah I'm totally a villager and not a wolf. And I just said that we can't lie so I'm obviously 100% not lying". Too convenient.
    Barney92 wrote: »
Well Molly, I never said there would be consequences. I told her that we would be told if either of us lied. Now, SM was honest and I wasn't trying to convince her that I was on team village, I was trying to see if she was on team village (which she was). So a ruse it was but a ruse which served its purpose I suppose.

thats what SM says you said
    Barney92 wrote: »
Yeah, hence why in my 9.59 post I said that I couldn't be certain of Strawberry being good, but that I believed she was.
    Barney92 wrote: »
No, I'm not sure why Strawberry said consequences. I'm pretty sure I just said that we would be informed, although I don't think I actually specified how we would be informed (whether consequences or just being told). I had planned on doing a post here (related to me lying) to give evidence to my claim of their being a mechanic to show when one of us lied, but decided against it in the end.

We had discussed lying about the prize a bit to gauge some reactions but we never settled on a plan to do so. Maybe that was Strawberry's thinking. I think she had twigged this morning that I had being lying about the 'lie mechanic'.
    Barney92 wrote: »
I was hoping for SM not to engage much once I had told her, which might point out she was a wolf, but she was quite open.
    Green&Red wrote: »
So there was no lie stipulation?
    Barney92 wrote: »
    No, sorry Strawberry :(
    Barney92 wrote: »
No idea, SM thought it might be because I used "evict" in a post and was the first to do so after the munch. I considered this but the mods response was almost immediately after that post so it seems unlikely, but not impossible. I'm inclined to think that either someone gave it to me or that it was because of the post number of my post and the mods knew that post no 225 would be given a prize.
    Barney92 wrote: »
Because it was in conjunction with a conversation we were having. The lie detector didn't actually exist so I was trying to see how she would react in the back room.
    Barney92 wrote: »
Ha, I wish. That was just a mistake on my part. I was looking for something quickly so I could provoke a reaction from her and didn't notice that.

you're too experienced to make a mistake, as is SM to mix up consequence and whatever you said.

whats that thing called. the simplest explanation usually the correct one.

i think the simplest explanation here is that barney is lying.

What exactly am I lying about? That there was a mechanism? Yes, I was. I've said that a number of times now. I didn't say there would be consequences. I said that we would know that the other was lying. So I don't quite think I'm lying there any more. So I presume you believe we were in a room together and we know SM was good. I told her that if either lied the other would be made aware of it. She told you that I said I was not a wolf or a serial killer. So if the lying mechanism did exist then I am good. If the lying mechanism did not exist you have to work out if that makes me good or bad. I'm not lying about anything. I lied to SM in the backroom, about the existence of a lie detector. But what am I lying to you about?

Also, flattered you think I couldn't possibly have made a mistake, but I genuinely didn't understand why Bounty saying Hulk Hogan would spook sully. Even though sully was Hogan, I still don't understand the reasoning but I did not make the link at the time that SM was saying that sully would be spooked because Bounty mentioned her character.

Barney did you win a prize or were you passed a prize?

Sorry, that should have said "Yes, I was to SM". I don't think I've told any lies on thread. I questioned SM here to see how she'd react

I won a prize. Although maybe the phrase won means chosen by someone else to win a prize. I don't know.

I'm not so sure. Strawbs did cast some doubt on the lie detection thing but why did Barney decide to come clean about it. He told us that he lied to Strawbs. If he was a wolf then why tell us after Strawbs was evicted - he could have said nothing rather than admit to a lie.

It appears to me that he told us about the lie in attempt to prove that he had the interests of the village at heart by lying to Strawbs.

So for now I'm not that suss of Barney.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,772 ✭✭✭✭Green&Red

There'd be no real benefit (That I can see) to Barney lying to SM about the lying mechanism and then admitting to us. If he was a wolf then I think he would continue the lie surely?

Barney, can you take me through your thought processes here. Specifically why they’re not on the same team and also if you’re saying both are bad?

It seemed a bit strong for defence of a teammate to me. I hadn't really cast doubt on QB, I was just asking for a response to a question, which she provided.

Yoss came in quite heavy handed saying that I was throwing/casting shade at QB. I think a teammate would have just left QB deal with it herself because it was relatively small fish in the grand scheme of things. Whereas it might have been yoss trying to come across as a villager by defending someone else.
