  • Registered Users Posts: 40,291 ✭✭✭✭Gatling

You were quick to gleefully support the notion that this thread was about Venezuela and nowhere else and here you are banging on about somewhere else.

Actually no I was correcting some misinformation

And your the only one claiming uniforms and fake soldier's but offer nothing to back up your claim

The armed forces of Venezuela are the FANB, not the FAN.

You stated that all flashes, insignia etc, were authentic. But they're not.

Says you and you only unfortunately you will have to provide more details to prove your claim ,
Did you think at all it's actually to distinguish themselves from pro Maduro forces .

    No

But please if you have anything else to back your claims please post

    Anyway,

This is not about saving a few flamingos or Venezuelans. There's no money or advantage in he!ping the wretched.

I actually had to laugh at the spat between France and Italy. France recalled their ambassador citing claims that Italy have illegally interfered in French politics.

As Macron, the former Rothschild banker, insists that Guaido is the legitimate leader of another country.

    I just told you.
The armed services of Venezuela are the Fuerza Armada Nacionale Bolivariana.

    That is the FANB.

Do you know that? Are you aware of that?

Lost his hand? How did that happen?

This does not sound good in anyway. The immediate thought is that he was a victim of his own making.

How does one's hand just get blown off?

Again can you provide anything other than your opinion these uniforms and soldier's are fake .

    Not your opinion

Add the fact hundreds of images from Venezuela over the last few weeks have shown multiple military branches without fan or fanb on their uniforms

They literally never see the hypocrisy. Italy is annoyed because of Libya. France and the U.K. invaded (with of course the permission of the US, they are vassal States after all) and the left Italy to deal with the immigrant mess.

    Are you bereft of logic?

Are you allergic to facts? It would, upon the surface of things appear, that you might possibly be.

The insignia of the armed forces of Venezuela carries the initials FANB.

This is not, as you blithely state, an opinion. It is a fact.

    Meanwhile in the news

"Venezuela's self-proclaimed acting leader Juan Guaido refused to rule out Friday the possibility of authorizing a US intervention to help force President Nicolas Maduro from power and alleviate a humanitarian crisis.

National Assembly President Guaido told AFP he would do "everything that is necessary... to save human lives," acknowledging that United States intervention is "a very controversial subject."

The opposition leader launched a bid to oust Maduro last month, declaring himself acting president, a move recognized by the United States and around 40 countries, including 20 from the European Union.

Under Maduro's stewardship, Venezuela's economy has collapsed leaving the country wracked by hyperinflation, recession and shortages of basic necessities such as food and medicine.

Guaido, 35, is trying to bring in food and medicines from the US but the supplies are stuck in warehouses in Colombia because the Venezuelan military has blocked their entry.

Earlier, Maduro vowed not to let in "fake humanitarian aid" and claimed Venezuela's crisis has been "fabricated by Washington" to justify intervention.

Guaido says 300,000 people could die if desperately-needed aid isn't brought in.

"We're going to do everything that has a lower social cost, which generates governability and stability to deal with the emergency so we can recover public services," he said.

Failing public services including water, electricity and transport are among Venezuela's worst problems, while there is also a shortage of doctors and medical supplies in hospitals.

Helping the needy is not Guaido's only aim, though.

He has dismissed Maduro as illegitimate over his reelection last May in polls branded a fraud by the US, EU and many Latin American countries.

Guaido says the constitution allows him to assume power, set up a transitional government and hold new elections -- one of his key demands that has received widespread international support.

"We'll do everything we have to in a sovereign and autonomous manner to end the usurpation, (establish) the transitional government and (hold) free elections," he said."

Other reports state people will turn on the security forces if foods and medical supplies are blocked from entering the country from neighbouring states

Police grenade apparently, just last week one protestor lost an eye due to one, I think its time for Macron to go, abysmal approval ratings, poorer standards of living and violence against those who protest his regime

You're right. My pointing out a fact that doesn't sit well is merely an opinion.

I ought to have known better.

So the French police are using deadly force against protesters?

    Macron is finished.

You stated that all flashes, insignia etc, were authentic. But they're not.

As I observed a few pages back, the “B” was a Chavez creation, not an Army thing. It would not be without precedent for a soldier seeking to revolt by force of arms against the current government to disassociate himself from the changes reflective of the very government he believes illegitimate and so revert to the pre-modified symbology. Symbols can be potent.

All options should be on the table for him... Including military intervention, sanctions, shunned and labelled a tyrant on the world stage

The US sanctions have prevented Venezuelans access to essential and life saving medicines.

Do you have any need for medicine?

All imports of insulin, steroids, plasma, antibiotics have been blocked.

Forget that this is a crime against humanity according to the UN Charter. It's a moral revulsion.

None wear a uniform with the initials of the old guard. Stop bullsh1tting.

Nobody is talking about colours of boot laces or berets or any other nonsense that trips your trigger.

The uniforms are not Venezuela military. And that is a fact.

Why can't they get their medicines from Russia, Korea, Australia, Bangladesh, Senegal, Burkino Faso, The Holy See, or any other of the 192 nations in the world?

And given that you have ignored the hypothesis of the pre-Chavezian symbology, how would you explain defections of known Venezuelan officers such as Colonel Jose Luis Silva?

You have literally participated in the invasion of another country. You will have to forgive me if I refuse to accept you as a moral authority.

He is not asking to be a moral authority, he is a soldier, not a priest.

What he did ask was some pertinent questions though, questions that have not been answered. But I guess getting emotive is a way of trying to change topics.

These threads just seem to attract anti American posters who don't want to engage in anything but they did this and they did that ,
While apparently being blissfully unaware of actually whats going on around the world ,

I wonder does he ever get up in the morning, look in the mirror and realise he's a stooge for US imperialistic foreign policy, what's more pitiful is these brainwashed type people believe they are thousands of kilometres from home in places like Iraq protecting "muh American freedams".... thank you for your service!.... Of furthering death and destruction in the name of oil
