The opposite of banned. I was in Toners in Baggot Street one quiet evening, and a drunk tried panhandling the few patrons present. Ned the barman (great guy!) vaulted the counter, and he and I more or less just sat on the other guy until uniformed help arrived. From then on I could do no wrong, always got served sooner than others, addressed by name, pint after last orders were called etc.
(Aside: It was a first of one date, the young lady was amused and entertained but didn't see a future with a fight putter outer)

A Loyds chemist shop near Portsmouth UK, and the village of Windlesham, also UK.

The chemist thing just got out of hand when they refused to sell me asprin, and the Village exclusion was a face saving condition by the crown prosecution attached to me accepting them dropping charges.

Had a friend at university who walked into a pub once, was grabbed by the landlord, and marched back out through the door in an armlock

Landlord shouted at him ‘you’ve been told before Dirk, you ain’t ever allowed back!’

The guy had never been in the pub before and wasn’t called Dirk (well, not before then, but it was obviously his nickname from thereafter)

I was barred from a public house in Manchester for not removing my hat. It was a warm day so I had a peaked cap on - they had a policy - I wasn't compliant. They lost out on a lemonade.

Why would you wear a hat indoors? Its generally considered rude and it’s downright tacky

I got banned from an Irish pub in Nijmegen when the barman disappeared and wasn't in sight for ages, I was gagging for a pint, so half drunk I hoped over the bar (sort of showing off to my then lady companion :P ) how to properly pour Guinness, just at that time the bar man reapeared and booted us both out.

This was seven years ago when I lived there. I doubt the ban still stands. They definitely don't remeber me.

    In Nijmegen....

That was obviously A Breach Too Far.

Go you. Tacky? I'm banned from yours too?
Actually I had just walked in on a scorching day and was about to but was met at the door of said pub with this request before I had even darkened it. So it put me off.

Was in a nightclub, legless drunk and ended up faling asleep. The security man slapped me on the back of the head and booted me out. Went back about a month later and was refused entry :(

Why do I read this more like...

"Was in a nightclub, legless drunk and ended up comatose. The security people tried their best to wake me up with no response. Eventually one of them, having a home to go to and all that got frustrated and gave me a slap on the back of the head. With that I came around and they escorted me to the door. I went back about a month later and they didn't let me in as they didn't want to be dealing with the same hassle again that night"

I was very briefly banned from Costello's in Limerick. If anyone knows Costello's, they'd know getting kicked out of there is an achievement.

I'm trying to think, I've been told to get out of a couple of places but not quite banned. I did get banned from a Gloria Jeans in Cork city when I was a teenager. They had a policy that you couldn't stay in there unless you bought something. My friends had gotten drinks but I hadn't and I was asked to leave. Let's just say I wasn't pleased about it :p

I got banned from that great Dublin all night breakfast place called Manhattan . It was a mistake though, I was accused of fouling the toilets which I did not do.
The toilets were a horror at the best of times and I would not have gone in there to save my life.
