I'll admit, I was tempted enough to have a look. Jaysus, plenty of girls dress a lot worse. Talk about exaggeration.

The child is about 10. Just because someone else dresses worse, doesn't make it okay for children to go around in belly tops and short skirts and pout like a prostitute.

Having said that, if the mother had half a brain she would make her page "private" and then only her fan club would see them - not half the country.

Lets face it, the children have no hope and no future. A sorry state of affairs.

She’s a child under 10 years of age. Dressing up and posing like that is ok behind closed doors. In my eyes it’s a serious case of child abuse. She dresses and acts way beyond her years. Who is she copying? Or is there a more serious element at play here.

I think it says more about the people who look at it and infer sick connotations to it tbh.

Every girl wants to be Beyoncé or whatever, what's the big deal unless you look at those photos in a sick way?

The poster I was answering said Ms Cash was AS bad. Who was she AS bad as if not the child referred to?

That poster was me and I was referring to the mums not the kids.

so every responsible parent out there should let all their daughters under the age of 10 dress up and look like hookers and post pictures of them on social media cos it's not a big deal??

That only looks like a prostitute in your head. It certainly doesn't in mine.

Just as bad as what exactly? Please explain how a child is in the wrong here?

The mums he's talking about, not the children. I don't agree with putting up pictures of children on line - once on the internet they are there forever.

I'll say the same again as I said above, that only looks like a hooker/prostitute in your head because no child looks like a hooker to me.

Do you not think its inappropriate to dress children like an adult would dress on a night out? Are you so naive to think that there aren't people out there that would take that picture and use it for nefarious means.

I think children should be allowed to be children and not mini adults with a face full of make up but like i said before, its celebrity culture - trying to be like some Z lister - but this is where good parenting comes in, sadly lacking in this instance.

It says a lot about ME and MY values that I don't see a child as a prostitute?

If it does I'm glad of that.

Can I ask, are you a parent?

I am and now see paedos everywhere - I have a hightened vigilance to try and ensure that my daughter is never exposed to any possible threat. It didn't work actually because there are feckers everywhere, but I tried my best.

I know that my attitude is more than a little OTT but now I'm a mother its like its in my DNA. I think that might be why some of us think the picture is too much and others see it as a little child pretending to be Beyonce. Just coming at it from different influences.

THIS!!! this is exactly why we should be concerned about girls under the age of 10 dressing inappropriately as paedos are drawn to them like magnets and seek to take advantage of them and will use every trick in the book to lure them.

So that's were you're completely wrong, I'm a mother of three including a girl and I don't see paedos everywhere.

That may be because I don't spend my days on mumsnet though.

Not do I, I'm way too old for mumsnet.

I guess we're just different, there's nothing wrong with that - life would be very different if we all agreed about everything, all the time.

It's not unusual these days to see girls 15, 14, some even 13 to start dressing similarly to go to child discos but 9??!! For a parent to dress their child that way, photograph them in a "provocative" pose and post it to their FB page with 2K friends at only 9 is disgraceful imo.

Margaret posting about how Travellers are straying from their culture and caring too much about wealth these days while seemingly missing that like half of those points apply to herself aswell.. Sure she was in for a session on the sunbed the very week they went off to the Garda station.

My brain hurts after reading that.

    Seriously.

We should defend our way of life to an extent that any attempt on it is crushed, so that any adversary will never make such an attempt in the future.

Margaret talking about how the old thick Irish blood runs through Travellers' veins? And at the same time they're an ethnic minority? Make up your mind...

All well dressed kids, all new coordinated shirts, what label are they wearing?
Girl is ott in her poses, she'll be married off in a few years, heels, and a light tan.....at 9?
Mags won't have to look for that 5bed too long, another 2/3 years those kids will be gone, looking for their own free-entitled-to house, and so it goes on and on.

"Some Wouldn't Know a Rough And Ready Day To Be Honest with YEE". She's clearly has had a few rough and ready days judging by the size of her family.

Funny that she admits that ppl in her community have all the latests smartphones, money for makeup etc. I though they were deprived, they seem to have money for everything they want. She talks about other travellers being greedy for money and talks about being poor as it was a virtue but then complains that the gubberment aren't giving them enough to live adequalty. What a hypocrite.

Anyone who can spend €600 on one suit for a communion and god knows how much more on the other 6, is not poor or hard up. She's such a freeloading hypocrite.

Well she did say that's she's not poor she's homeless

    https://www.irishtimes.com/news/social-affairs/i-have-been-constantly-begging-for-help-margaret-cash-on-being-homeless-1.3598174?mode=amp

Of course it is curious that she could afford the communion suit and dress yet she had to steal from Penney's for the children

I'm of the opinion Margaret Cash is quite possibly the best thing the 'Alt Right' and potential racists have seen in over a decade.

Almost immediately they can hold her up as a shining example, and this will be used/abused to denigrate and belittle Welfare recipients, Direct Provision claimants, Housing Assistance claimants and the whole ethos and essence of the Welfare State system.

Its true that the Travelling Community DO experience discrimination and have problems. Its down to them to try and solve it, but they can't do it alone. They've to be 'guided' in a sense to a path that is respectful of societal norms, that hard work has just rewards, gains respect in the eyes of your peers and the community as a whole.

But thats going to take time, and for many - the time was yesterday, ten years ago, twenty years ago, and sadly - not much has changed. The same problems are still there, the poverty, the alcoholism, the violence, the general disregard for the rule of law. The abject criminality. Frankly - people's patience ran out, and ran out a long time ago. We tried kindness, love, tolerance, and it has'nt got us very far.

Some of the most heinous nasty crude racist right wing views are held against these fellow citizens of Ireland. I can't repeat them here. I don't want to. They sicken me to the core. I would'nt permit such views to be espoused in front of me about Jews or Homosexuals, so I can't allow it for Travellers either, even if my experiences with Travellers has'nt always been positive or enriching.

And so, we'll go around in circles. The failure is generational, and will be repeated. What chance do her children have? She's doing her best to be a good mother, but its only a matter of time before those children end up repeating the same mistakes. Thats less than two decades away, and the Ireland of that time won't be so tolerant or accepting of nonsense like that.
