As someone who hasn't read the books I would have been happy with the series finishing on the ending to season 3.

However I'm glad it's back now after watching the opening episode to season 4 as Claire and Jamie are two very likable characters to watch as their story on winds.

I thought we were going to get an answer
    to Time Travel
    with that start.

    However now I'm guessing now
we know there is a ring in North America Claire can jump forward and backwards again along with a few other travelers as the season goes on.

Claire learned a tough harsh painful lesson this week by doing the right moral thing you can also do more harm.

Maria Doyle Kennedy is amazing in the role of Jocasta.

    perfect casting

I wonder are they going to tease that
    the skull is Brianna

Now we also have a timeline as such to an ending point. (Well as much as you can have one with time travel)

    Wasn't it an
    Indian spirit guide?

    I don't think so as
The Skull had fillings from the late 20th century

Oh, yeah, was confused about that since they seemed to suggest
it was an Indian spirit guide

I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet, but from what i have read a lot of the fans of the books were very unhappy with the episode

having no luck at all :(

I went from thinking ep 8 was highly erotic to watching from behind my fingers. Only Outlander has that effect.

Can't find ep 9 available. Any PM'd links would be appreciated.

Ah, I'm a Netflix martyr. It should be available before today is out elsewhere.

He can't catch a break. If he fell into a river and someone held out a branch he'd impale himself on it. :pac:

Oh what a way to cliffhanger the ending of this weeks episode!!

Oh what a way to cliffhanger the ending of this weeks episode!!

Thanks for the heads-up! Not going to watch this now ...... Will wait till I have 2 back to back.

Gutted Caitriona Balfe didn't get the Golden Globe!

It's the bally ballyness of it that makes it all seem so bally bally.

There's a cliff hanger every week... there'll be another one next week. If anything this week's cliff hanger (very minor spoiler perhaps)
involves one of the minor characters.

Lord John is a great character.

    Roger is going
to turn into Richard Harris in A Man called Horse.

Roger really is turning into a great character.
A great act of stupidity and bravery this week.

That must have been set during the worst period of weather in the history of the US. Since Claire and Jamie have been to America many months have passed and it's been decidedly chilly looking :pac: The poor natives !

One character in this episode talked about the cool hands of a woman being what made him fall in love with her. As he sat there naked and shivering I couldn't quite believe it !

    No sign of
    Claire
in this episode apart from flash back/forwards and little of
    Jamie
    . From the books does
Brianna and Roger's story take precedence from here on?

A great ending to the season.

I would have been happy had it finished on the beach in the final episode of last season.

However I'm glad they continued on looking forward to season 5.

Poor season overall for me, I think this might be it for me. Way to many near death experiences yet none of the main characters die, you can be sure Bonnet is still alive.

It was the poorest season so far for me, season 2 was the best but at least half of the episodes in this season was a real chore to watch
