It's not a fair point. The fire exits in the Stardust were chained shut. Plus the Stardust victims didn't have the added responsibility of minding children on the night they died. Sickening comparison tbh but I would expect nothing less from the enablers of these people's behaviour.

To be fair to the poster they weren't the one to make the comparison first. John Connors made the comparison and some traveller campaigner made it also. It's ridiculous but that poster didn't do it first

I'm driving since 2001, full no claims but as I had a trade policy and going to private even though this policy included private and in my own name I can't get insurance.

I'm only able to get quotes as a no experience driver.

You are one of our problems, Margaret. You, and others like you, who feel entitled to have numerous kids you can't support, never work a day in your life, disregard the law, and then rant on about how "de gubbermint" isn't handing you everything you want on a silver platter.

The money and the benefits and the free house you want doesn't come from "de gubbermint." They come from the pockets of hard-pressed working taxpayers, many of whom can't afford children or homes of their own, in part because of the "choices" that you, and others like you, are making.

Try going to a broker, they might be able to sort something :-)

One of the things I struggle to comprehend is how successive taoisigh and ministers for finance either haven't realised, or have simply ignored the fact that eventually we will run out of workers to pay for the non-productive, in the same way the pension schemes ran aground - the main difference being that most people who qualified for a pension actually contributed to it at some stage.

I do find it funny when people's first contributions are basically to just want to shut down the thread

So we have you, tatranska, Vicarious Function, Babooshka and various others just pop up 'questioning the longevity of the thread', the thread title or wanting the thread closed

Plenty of time left to run in this story and plenty left to say until Margaret gets her forever home

The dramatics. ‘Shut down’ and ‘shout down’ have to be the most overused phrases on boards.ie. Some delicate questioning by two users and suddenly we want the thread closed down? I’ve no doubt it will keep rumbling on and I have very little power in getting threads closed nor would it be something I’d bother to seek very often. Another user and I are just wondering what more could be said at this stage. Very mild criticism. Very mild.

I have to say, I often find the deployment of the terms ‘shut down’ and ‘shout down’ to be a sly silencing tactic in itself.
