    Traditionally, the expression "I wouldn't give a tinker's curse"

    was equivalent to I wouldn't give a toss etc - meaning, something of small value.

    I say this meaning no disrespect towards law-abiding Travellers, of whom there are many.

    And no, not “all travellers” should be respected. Equally not all white people should be respected, black people, etc etc.. because some arent worthy of it.

    There's 'drawing the tinkers on you'.

    And there's 'drawing the guards on you'.

    Neither a good idea. Be interesting to see how this all pans out for Joyce and his family over the longer term. He has asked for it.

    I know a few disabled people who are a**holes and I have no respect for them, likewise I have no respect for 'creeps' or 'nonces'.

    No I was thinking beyond that.

    Guards will officially deny it. But the reality is - they can operate together to make somebody their business all the time. Travellers for all their common bond don't really do that on a sustained basis against someone.

    I wouldnt rule out believing in the Tinkers Curse.

    I heard that one traveller cursed another traveller that he would be in a car that was rear-ended 5 times in 3 years. And it came true.

    Another traveller put a curse on her daughter in law that she would fall and injure her back in 2 shops, 4 chippers and a pub in less than a decade. I believe they are just waiting for the 4th fall in the shop but the good news is she has 3 years to so it.

    i wasn't going to vote at all, but i will now for sure.

    he has dragged the election into the gutter, but the decent people of Ireland will to drag it back out!
    i think it's fair to say he has touched a nerve on these boards at least. a raw, putrid, ugly racist nerve that many of us would prefer was not exposed.
