Apparently big numbers expected at the protest today. Gaurds all over Strokestown already. Really hope that it's not used as an excuse for trouble and if people go it's with the intent of making a point and not just to stir the pot and cause trouble.

I am all for protests. I think the Irish are terrible for their fear of protesting. It's a colonial thing with a bit of Catholic guilt thrown in. However you need to pick your battles and the incident at Strokestown is not one of them.

SF out there fighting the good fight and yet dropping in polls. I don't get it? what more do people want?!

    It's not a good fight.

This Strokestown story is hugely damaging to them.

I tend to agree with this. I think the reason a lot of fellow Roscommon people are upset is the fact the evicters had such a pro loyalist and anti Irish attitude.

And its an ideal day for them.

wow, ex isis, really? Is this why we are bringing in refugees from war zones? To carry out the 15,000 evictions
If that was the truth there would be civil war but no its not whats really going to happen. What did just happen was you exposed yourself to be an extremist of a sort.

That's a lot of crazy conclusions to jump to in one post.

What anti Irish attitude did anyone have? I certainly didn't see an anti Irish attitude in any of the videos. In fact, you are the only person to come to that conclusion.

yeah but what more can they do? their well constructed fiscal policies and commitment to law and order are second to none. And Mary Lou is a woman. they tick all the boxes.

People to pay revenue and not get full weight of major party when they do not

In fairness, that's the spin from the Shinners and most people would immediately Think"oh that's terrible. They don't want you to look further into it.

Only when you look further into it you see the misrepresentation from that side, there was no anti irish attitude, no one got dragged by the ears, they blatantly ignore the fact your man never paid anyone be they big business, small business, or Revenue, a serial defaulter.

The funniest for me is them describing him as elderly. I'm coming up to 50 and if anyone described me as elderly, I'd hit the roof.

This is both funny and very true. People will say anything if they feel it will improve their agenda.

I wasn't there so not going to make any claims but as a local I know that a lot of rumours are circulating that the evicters repeatedly came out with anti Irish abuse. I doubt it and it is probably bs but it's definitely creating tension true or not.

One of them said he was British.

    The inhumanity!!!!!!!

    Of course theres local rumours.
Sure every bit of land these days rumoured to be bought by travellers. Every house rumoured to be bought by council to put crack whores into.

    The countryside loves bull**** rumours

    So what's the latest?
Are the family in the house? , out of the house?

Mary Lou picked the wrong week to bugger off on holiday to Palestine (wasn't the Dail in session last week and all?), her personal rating as well as the partys are on the decline in the latest poll

Well, she won’t lose an eye after Leo’s shot at her, even though he hit the mark.
Nice British Burberry she’s wearing though.

So presumably they were encouraging the people to leave the house in the years running up to the day when the bank were going through the courts?

Thered have been no need for security if they'd walked out on their own.

Correcting someone about your nationality isn't "anti irish"

    Simply, NO.

To be honest that's as far as I get in a lot of your posts. I check if a certain poster has thanked it. If he has then I'm fairly sure it's not worth reading and just move on.

Why are KBC even coming under fire?
It's nothing to do with them any more.

    Quite a stupid approach, QED.

Because of the mob mentality and the fact that most of the chimps who follow the likes of Gilroy et al don't have 2 brain cells to rub together.

Do Cabot have an office in Dublin?

Do you know what, I was going to ask the exact same question on the SF fb page.

Go on and have a look at the KBC protest photos. One photo shows a load of SF protesters in a Bank with a clearly stressed young Bank Employee. They are standing there like complete zombies. It reminds me of the Eoin McLove episode in Father Ted.

    Ffs leave the lad alone.

The fact they are contuing tvese "protests" despite being fully aware the Roscommon guy is a complete chancer says more about them.

I also notice they have not issued any statement condoning the burning of 2 KBC branches.

    Gombeens.
If the cute hoor paid his bills none of this would be happening.

Not really. In my experience he has thanked some very idiotic posts prior to this thread.

Not just coming under fire, but being set on fire. As someone here pointed out, all that will achieve is a few badly-paid junior clerks being frightened. The funny side of it is that KBC management might decide to pull out of Ireland as a result of the intimidation and sell the rest of their loan book to funds.
There are lads here who seem to think that KBC means King Billy’s Coppers or something like that.

Yes, really. After all, it led you to a false conclusion. And a lazy one.

Maybe your problem is that you are only capable of seeing two angles.

Even people I totally disagree with, I read what they post. I don't go looking at the 'thanks'.

I think we'll agree to disagree. There's enough off topic nonsense in this thread without adding to it.
