Quit the personal arguments now please. The topic of this thread is Manchester United, not the posting history of other posters or having childish arguments. The thread will be cleaned up, posts may be deleted or carded.

    Could you define ‘personal arguments’?

Sometimes a poster and their argument(s) become so intertwined that they become indistinguishable. For instance, posters who are psychologically committed to deflecting criticism away from Mourinho.

This is football forum with people as the posters, not robots.

It would be great if you could offer more clarity here.

    Thanks.

Sad to see posters still having a go at one another. Now is the time to let all all of the bickering from the last few months slide. It's a new chapter commencing for United and one of its most important ones in recent times. It's essential to get the next appointment (or two if we're talking an interim manager) right and get the right person in place to implement a rebuilding phase to get United back into the top four, and then back to being a Premier League contender. A lot of the dead wood will have to be cleared out in the next 3-4 transfer windows as well as getting in players that not only have quality, but also the right mentality.

Literally word for word could have been used the last 2 times this has happened...

And probably refered to the exact same deadwood.

I missed the word Deadwood, not been seen since LVG was sacked

I would class them as hardwood in reality

    Or even immovable objects

Possible scenario..... Larry White to take over to end of season and then move upstairs to DoF role with next permanent manager hired.

As a regular reader I can confirm Drumpot has stated numerous times Jose was part of the problem but not the only problem.

No nitpicking pieces of posts to back up a lie is going to change the facts.

Interesting that United chose to trigger Martial's contract extension last night, at the same time when there were clearly bigger decisions being made and finalised at the club.

Sure, businesses are capable of multi-tasking, but I'm now wondering do the chances of Martial staying beyond next Summer increase or decrease given this morning's news.

I would have to believe that Martial was in the "90% of the dressing room" which Jose reportedly lost.

There were reports from RMC, (i think) that we triggered this option in his contract a few months back and actually were planning on announcing he had signed a new 5 year deal but we haven't been able to agree one yet, which is why there hasn't been a big confirmation of it on Twitter or the likes.

Is there any point continuing on the “Jose pulled the wool over our eyes” type crap now, it’ll be proved right or wrong in the coming months.

When are they announcing the new manager?

Blanc for caretaker. Zizou in next summer. I've had too wait almost a full year, but thankfully at last we've got rid of that dinosaur of a manager.

A positive of Mourinho leaving is that the sacrificial lamb has been slaughtered.

No one has a single fcuking excuse not to bust their balls at the weekend.

It's a long road back for united and sacking Mourinho isn't going to magic it better. It doesn't resemble a football club anymore.

Plot twist: They were actually fully behind Jose, and in their devastation will down tools in protest against Cardiff.

Nah. They'll probably be excused for the next few months as they recover from their ordeal. Mourinho will still be blamed by some dont worry.

Was there not a few players in the same situation waiting to see what would happen with Jose? Had he stuck around, those fellas wouldn't.I think Martial was high on that list.

Surely woodward position is unattainable after signing 3 different managers and 26 players in his tenure and the squad is still bad.

This kind of dismissive opinion as well as going on and on about it is as bad/polar as any suggestion it was all Mourinho.

The players like Valencia or Jones are clearly muck. Some clearly became so sick of Jose they stopped even trying and in an ideal world would not be allowed to get away with it. It is clearly going to take time to recover from the mess of recruitment, poor decisions at board level, mess of a manager who undermined players, fell out with players and made some terrible choices.

What is Mike Phelan at these days? Whoever joins up will have to bring coaches with him.

The problems are bigger than Mourinho and they havent suddenly disappeared,Woodward should just stand in the dug out as far as im concerned and i believe if a winner like Mourinho couldnt change things for us then i dont think Poch or anyone else will be able too either!
But I will take great enjoyment watching the Jose out brigade scramble for their next sacrifice if the players dont start making 5 yard passes or actually run for a while during the match from now on!!

When you put it like that it is surprising they haven't moved him away from that side of things. In an American sports model a sporting director of operations would be out on his ear with half of that record.
His employment at the club is still bullet proof when you look at his performance on the commercial side of things.

He was poison, he's gone, grand, time to forget about him. Who now?

Really have no idea for an interim boss but long term Pochettino. I've no doubt he'd leave Spurs if he's offered a ton of cash but the problem is Real Madrid are going to be looking for a new coach at the end of the season. If it's a straight choice between Madrid and United, he'd choose the former.

Poch is my no1 choice. Think it will be very hard to get him though

    To some people.

I would be surprised, and disappointed. I genuinely think that is a scheduled marketing ad.

So clearly a marketing ad. Anyone that is in anyway tuned into twitter knows how that works.

This must be like for the Mourinho fans, how I feel when people go at Pogba over everything :D
