What a Christmas present that is

    Potch in the summer

Hopefully this change means Lukaku gets dropped and Greenwood gets a chance, the kid deserves it.

So I guess we know why ed wood had his hand over his mouth talking to sir Bobby at the weekend

In fairness to Bobby he was right on Jose, pity we had to spend 400 odd million pound to find out.

    enjoy.

    at least you did something.

it won't solve the deeper issues on their own, but the squad will probably get a lift. it'll then all be about the replacement. normally i'd say they already know who they want to replace Mourinho, but such is how Utd has been run on the football side of things in recent times nothing is a guarantee.

on Mourinho, the mistake the club made was giving him the new contract and not then backing him. completely foolish and caused a toxicity that has hurt the season in a massive way.

Now I think of it, I’d say that t was the Liverpool fans singing don’t sack mourinho that goaded the board to act

Can't wait to see Pogba get the Balon D'Or next year now.

Disappointed as he is the best we could get, the damage was done in the summer.

I really hope the players prove me wrong but I don't think any manager would get top 4 with these players.i think Mourinho massively overachieved last season.

I hope Carrick and McKenna get it until the end of the season.

We have a few easyish games coming up so hopefully we can get a response from the players

Without a proper manager being brought in ASAP, I do wonder if the club is in the position to sign a DOF in the immediate future, which could provide some imputeus on the player recruitment and retention prior to the end of the season.

They will make an external appointment within 48 hours who will only be temporary manager untill the summer.

Carrick is only in charge for 2 days.

    Breaking on Sky

None whatsoever. Suffer it until the end of the season. He’ll be gone when we finish 6th or worse.

Players should be ashamed of themselves unprecedented 3rd manager being sacked with the heart of this squad playing for two out of three of them some players playing for all three as I said earlier in this thread these players will still get their wages regardless of how bad they play that's not right

An external appointment to the end of the season makes no sense, to me.

    Wenger in lol

Could be Jardim with a view to a longer contract in the summer.

Zidane is favourite which I hope is false, don't like him.

We should go all out for Potch in the summer.

Would a caretaker point to the fact that their target is currently in a job?

Massive lump of responsibility to throw on the inexperienced shoulders of Michael Carrick. While before he was maybe a conduit between players and manager he is now making the calls in a position I highly doubt he seen himself in so soon.

Just seen Mitch's post above, makes more sense.

That's a better option than a 4 year deal to another unsuitable manager

I coulda sworn some one else said something very similar to this while ago!! Ha ha

Yep. Because Mourinho is the problem.

It's like being a competent middle manager when your staff couldn't be arsed and your superiors are a bunch of clueless fcuking idiots.

If it ends up as one of these I am done with the club until Woodward goes. Would be the stupidest thing I could imagine.

    Caretakers mid-season are always dodgy.

They are likely to get the mid-season new manager boost. It would be difficult not to improve on United's current predicament. Then they are suddenly in the frame for the permanent job, despite usually not having the CV to warrant it.

Then next season the novelty wears off and you are back to square one.

Part of the problem but easier to change than buying a new set of players

That's 1/3 of the clubs problems half fixed. Long way to go yet.

Delighted, wasn't a fan of Jose at the appointment stage but got behind him and actually enjoyed the honesty he seemed to bring. He was the best we've had since Fergie. End of last season, despite second I was already frustrated and the honesty had become toxic IMO.

This season has been awful, shocking to watch and the dynamics behind the scenes seemed like a soap opera. The club needs a root and branch review but Jose needed to go. Interesting times ahead

Nothing about Mourinho screams competence at the moment.

He has spent a lot of money. He has either chosen terrible players, or he just has no clue how to utilise them.

Even all this talk about needing to buy a centre back. Did he not spend big money on Lindelof and Bailly? Are they not good enough? And if not, why on earth would you let him spend more money on another?
