He is gone, happy he is gone but not happy it worked out like this. It is best for the club and for Jose himself.

Fook - that came out of nowhere.

I know plenty have been calling for it for MONTHS. but if you look at the press there wasn't a single report of him being sacked this week - all had him in situ for a while yet.

    I'm in shock tbh.

Looks like Woody learned his lesson from leaking it so many times.

Caaretaker manager to the end of the season. Not a fan of that, but I do understand why, to a degree.

I don't like caretaker managers - it does nothing to cement the future of the current players. Wonder who it will be, too.

You'd have to think Carrick/McKenna duo - can't see us bringing in an outsider as a caretaker.

I can't believe a modicum of leadership has been shown upstairs.

Not that surprising given the criticism the board came under over how they handled the sackings of the last two managers. They were never going to give the media even the slightest hint this time.

    Wow.

I tell you fookin what, If the players don't show up now in the interim or under a new manager I'd play the entire reserve team in league.

    No Excuses now.

Never wanted him. Knew he’d ruin us. Glad to see him gone. The whole thing was a disaster.

    What have we done

Something, which is better than nothing.
Remains to be seen if it's followed by another good decision

more i think of it, the less I like the idea of a caretaker manager. Regardless of the manager in charge, I think we need a CB signing - but I cna't see the club doing anything in January when we don't have anyone, properly, in charge. Its going to be this set of players, no more or less, through to the end of the season.

I also know that getting a first choice could be impossible, and thats why we'd wait, but I just think there has to be people we could and should bring in (Jardim, Zidane.... I still think Howe could be a great pickup) and would allow us to properly move on, immediately. Maybe do someting in January, maybe help in getting DDG and Martial signed to new contracts, maybe see something we expect from Pogba etc... A caretaker manager leaves us stagnating for another 6 months.

    Let's see how Carrick does.

I feel a caretaker manager until the end of the season means we're going after Poch.

Which I would personally be quite happy with as an appointment, providing a DOF is in place.
