Why do you keep replying with stupid questions. Why don't you go find out.

The rest of us are happy the courts have the answers to any relevant questions and made an informed decision.
There are many ‘ experts ‘ on here . I am waiting for their answers .;)

I don't know about the rest of you, but I think the real question here is what do Jerry Beades and Tom Darcy have to say about the matter.

So this farmer committed fraud on the state. Half a million worth.

What do you have to say now do-gooders?

He's old. It's 2018. We have to look after our own.

    Possibly some excuses

    How’s it goin, Paul Murphy.

What “eviction war”? One or two people being evicted every few months is hardly a war. Bleedin’ SJW snowflake lefty keyboard warriors.

There was a story a good few years ago in Dundalk where a guy was being evicted and they had people recording and a load of people there to prevent it. He had recently opened a large gym and was driving a less than one year old car. Some people deserve no sympathy.

Were the three people in the house fully aware that their home was being put up as collateral for these loans .

I'd say they were as they would have had to offer the property as collateral when looking for the money. The banks can't just put a mortgage on an asset without the knowledge or permission of the owners

    blinding wrote: »
Were they all capable of agree-ing that their sole home should be put up as collateral

I'd say they are as the courts have found no reason not to grant possession based on the default of the loan - and the court cases seem to have been ongoing for years - so I am assuming that they had legal advise and argued this point .. if it was

. Do all of these People have a claim on that home ? Have they signed off their right to that home ? Are all their names on the debts ?

this also would have been a matter for the courts and the courts have granted possession. Only those who own the property can put it up as collateral

    this passed through the courts

whats your actual basis to challenge it

or are you essentially saying you need to agree with a law and a ruling and have it explained to you in ever decreasing circles before it can be put into action or before you choose between a gang of vigilantes and the law of the land?

Connections to the Political and Media Establishment and too much information about the Political and Media Establishment .

Revolution for what? against what? Against lenders taking action on unperforming loans by calling in what was secured against them?

Revolution for the protection of tax defaulters? Revolution for the protection of people who don't pay their tabs to local businesses?

Flooding the country with cheap credit, pushing up asset prices, in turn causing a rapid rise in debt, particularly private debt, maybe

Do you not remember how they gave loans to people who fudged their figures at gunpoint? They were in cohorts with new car salesmen and travel agents.

€1k a month likely wouldn’t even cover the interest on a €500k debt. At 3% the interest would be €15k p.a. And at 5% it would be €25k.

As already mentioned banks are business not charities. At some point they have to decide to cut their losses and the only solution may be eviction. If this doesn’t happen, then the rest of us that pay our mortgage every month, and some struggling to do so, are continually subsidizing those who can’t or just chose not to.

Tell me about it - the bastards gave me a 10 million loan without me even knowing about it.

It never ceases to amaze me on these threads.

"We bailed out the banks, so people should also be bailed out"

These two situations are not the same and people need to understand this. We need a functioning banking sector to run an economy.

One of the reasons (not the only) our interest rates are higher than Europe is because of our reluctance to evict people. Remember the eviction from one property makes that property available for someone else to purchase.

To help reduce interest rates we need competition. From a business perspective why would any new bank enter the market if it could not take possession of a property if the owners were not paying their mortgage.

People took loans and are unable to pay them back. This is a part and parcel of life. Not everything in life works out. Repossessions are part of a normal property market.

Nobody wants to see people get evicted but at the same time why should people be allowed remain in a property and not pay their mortgage (including restructure ones).

All repossessions have gone through the Courts before they are granted.

Ah look there is a certain cabal in this country that latch onto every excuse but the most pertinent one. Which in this case is the debtors have no one to blame but themselves for their predicament. This person has form for financial mismanagement and deception given the judgements against him.

What I don't understand is the SJW latching onto their cause because in reality to me it's cut and dry. There are far more deserving cases of people in financial difficulty out there that could do with external support but then again it doesn't offer the opportunity to "bash a Northie" now does it!

Are you having a laugh. Revolution for what? Homelessness, health service, families being stretched to the limit, ever rising cost of living etc etc . That's my opinion and I'm sure many feel the same about the way this country is ruin
