Therefore my comment that the OP may be a racist is correct. He may be. He may not be. But nothing in THIS particular post he made indicated he was. Which is why I called into question the poster who flat out called him a racist.

Thats how the words may/might work. For example, you may be a man. Or you may not be. Nothing in your post indicates your sex one way or the other. Stating that you may be a man is not confirming you are. I'm not accusing you of something by making the statement.

I remember hearing the story and that they were hanging around, I don't know if I knew that they had refused to buy or to leave - but like you said the story has misrepresented.

FYI I'm not a drug dealer but until I said that, you had no idea if I was.....only common sense and probability. The odds of finding a casual racist online is a little higher than finding a dealer. At least outside Limerick forums.

There is nothing to "get". It is just pure stupid.

And denying being a drug dealer is one of the things a drug dealer would do. So you probably are a drug dealer.

In which case, I will change my point to the fact that American society is very different to Irish society whereby we have not had the same history of racism and slavery. This. I'm kind of bemused by the OP.

The main point of the video is a discussion on racism.

But then the OP asks about dining and dashing.

Anyway, never done it myself. A load of us once walked out of a restaurant without paying because we all thought someone else had paid. We only realised when we got to the pub and started asking each other how much we owed.

Went back and paid the bill. Oddly the staff hadn't even realised we'd left.

At a hotel in Trieste, we wandered in one morning and asked if it was possible to get breakfast. A guy told us it would be 20 euro, just head on over to the buffet there. So we had a nice breakfast and when we were leaving the guy we'd talked to was gone. We could have just walked out, but we we were honest and spent ten minutes at the till while they figured out how to actually charge us for breakfast.

I don't know how it's possible to dine and dash at Chipotle? It's a fast food place, you pay before or when you get the food. Unless they grabbed the bag and legged it out the door when it was put on the counter and before they had paid. If they were known for doing this then she was right to refuse to hand over the food until they had paid, regardless of their skin colour.

Probably even more brazen than that. US customer service is notoriously open.

Probably got to the till, and said, "Oh ****, I just realised I left my wallet at home". Guy tells him that's OK, he can pay next time.

Of course, he doesn't pay, but instead comes back and pulls the same trick a couple of more times before the manager finally has enough of his ****.

Saw a similar story on reddit about a woman who would come into a restaurant once a week, order the same dish for lunch, eat it and then complain that it was "different" from the last time and demand it was given to her for free. America being America, she got away with it for months before a manager eventually told her she could pay for her lunch or be banned for life.

Apparently these actual customers did dine n dash before. She was pleasant about it but lost her job.

If I was low waged staff in the US I just wouldn’t care. It’s the company that loses out.

(Probably. Although I wouldn’t put it past these companies to fire people for this and for letting a dine n dash happen).

She (the manager) seemed absolutely right based on the video and handled it well as far as I can tell.

Perhaps, but we don't know - you and Grace didn't have grounds for telling them they were being racist. Suspicious of them fair enough but not flat out accusing them.

And personally I don't think there is any harm with people pointing out examples of self entitlement gone crazy in the West in general.

The below is full on racist though. And doesn't even bother to say which country.
