Anyone getting micro stuttering after playing for ma while?
Very like a memory leak issue.

I played too much of this over the weekend.
I was a huge critic of the base games lack of endgame content but they have done a great job since then,so much to keep the player busy now.

Reinstalled and playing a bit myself. Might join up with that clan..
Only have the base game at the moment, what DLC do I need to get upto speed..

All of them, unfortunately. Not sure what deals, if any, are out there at the moment, but there usually is a package containing all the DLC's.

I got the legendary edition on cd keys for €38 which includes all current DLC including forsaken.

Anybody get strange audio issues lately?

Every now and then the sound gets real low and goes quite tinny

Getting microstutters over the weekend but no sound issues as such.

The multiplayer matchmaking takes sooo long!!

Started to play this with friends yesterday, having a hell of a lot of fun and giving serious consideration to buying the Forsaken and additional stuff.

Forsaken is on sale at the minute. I downloaded it on PC last week as well so will probably play a bit over the next few weeks. Stopped playing on Console just before the first content pack dropped.

Lots of crashes and bugs experienced this evening. When in fireteams, we would be unable to enter any crucible games until we all left the team and started again. Lots of "Buffalo" errors too (logged in at two locations at once their helpdesk says which isn't the case).

Then took 3 hours for a purchase of The Forsaken to activate on my account which is frustrating cause I'm about to go to bed. But I know what I'll be at for the week :D

Strange haven't had any bugs at all(touch wood) and my forsaken purchase went through straight away.

It really is a good game its a shame they played it so wrong at the start.

So after a weekend of playing I have some thoughts:

    1) Why can't you have more than 3 players in a fireteam for doing missions? It's madness! The game clearly supports up to 6 people on a fireteam for Crucible stuff and even 4 in things like Gambit, but for story mode stuff, my friends and I had to split into 2 groups of 2 which was quite frustrating.

    2) Why do swords (which are, as far as I'm concerned, the best weapon in the game) need ammo for regular attacks? I could understand spending ammo on the special attack, but even when you have no ammo, they still work fine, so why is it draining ammo to swing a regular attack?

    3) Why on earth would you play any other class than Titan? :D They are ALL of the Avengers between their Captain America Shield, their HULK SMASH and I just unlocked the Thor's Hammer. I was also levelling up a Warlock and the missions on Titan where you have to do the platforming on the oil rigs almost drove me to ragequit because that fking class can't jump.

    1) Not sure, does regular raiding not do 6 players? i take fire missions as more que friendly considering the player base. If you have 6 players, just do the normal raids

    2) Because they do crazy damage and to have unlimited swings would be OP. To reduce the damage so you can swing more would just wind up in you dying alot.

    3) You prob just werent using the warlock jump correctly, you need to trigger the glide in the elevation stage not just when descending, you can glide forever as a warlock pretty much.. and when falling triggering the jump will stop you instantly. As a titan you can run out of juice and you only slow down, no instant stopping when falling, so massive fall damage or death is a more common occurance.. You will die alot more as Titan when jumping/falling through greater heights compared to lock/hunter :pac:

We're not at raiding stages yet, still trying to go through the campaign which seems to be limited to 3 people.

But when you have no ammo, they still do crazy damage - most things just die straight away, so I'm honestly not sure if I've ever noticed a difference between attacks with or without ammo.

Took me ages to figure that out after initially doing the mission with a Titan and not falling off any ledges or missing any jumps once. I guess the Titan behaves more "normally" as my 20+ years of FPS experience reads such things :) You can also prevent falling damage with Titans if you keep a little bit of gas in the tank from your glide and press space again just before you hit the ground.

Disregard my 1, i was getting "fireteam" mixed up with "nightfalls", but eh, i have been able to join crucibles with 4 members..

But yeah i do that with Titan, but theres missions at end game level that will require alot of free falling and jumping great distances. Doing them on lock/hunter was sooooo much easier and kept the stress levels at normal :D

The fireteam thing has been an issue for players since the begining of Destiny, and got worse with Destiny 2 vanilla.

In D1 you could play Raid and Normal PVP with 6 players.

Strikes, Nightfalls, Missions, some pvp with 3 player teams.

In D2 vanilla you had a FT cap of 3 for strikes, nightfalls and missions/patrols. A cap of 4 for all PVP and a cap of 6 for the raids... its stupid that they had these FT differences.

For reasons known only to bungie regular PvE activities are limited to 3 man teams (Story / Strikes / NF / Free Roam). Gambit is a 4v4 mode so...... PvP and Raids 6 man. It's just how they see these things being done. It hasn't changed since D1.

Swords? I don't really use them. They've diminished from what we had at the end of D1 with the 3 exotic swords.

Titans are the best. Floofy Warlock Jump and silly Hunters pirrouetting away from fights. As you say Titan America / Electric Hulk or Thor / and Fiery Thor. Nuff said.

One of my regular group is the sort of person who insists on always using sniper rifles, occasionally to the detriment of the current activity :) But when he got a sword the other night, he decided to give it a go after listening to the rest of us yammering on about how amazing it was and even he was a convert :D We were playing Gambit and 3 of us decided to start wailing on the Primeval with our swords and it didn't last very long :)

    Warlocks:
Keep Titans alive with Well of Radiance while they punch things
Kill everything from above with Dawnblade
Clear rooms with tickle fingers (Storm Caller)
    Have a Kamehameha
Nova Bomb that follows you like a lost dog
Nova Warp that's tanky as **** and one shots other supers

    Probably more
    Also, space wizards :)

We got 3 of us to a decent level and never once came close to getting 6 to try a raid.

Now a few of us back playing and still dont have 6 :(

Try Reddit Fireteams or Reddit LFG. By all accounts it's a great way of getting mature non assholey teams. If it's your first time running the Raid just put that in your post. Could also try the Destiny LFG site. Another one I've used is the100.io.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Learned about making the public missions into "Heroic" missions yesterday and spent a lot of time blowing up tanks on Titan and shooting gunships out of the sky on Io and getting lots of precious loots.

Also learned that you can spend Glimmer to remake shaders which was a game changer, case having been a hardcore Warframe player, Fashion Frame is the end game! :D Was sitting on the max Glimmer for the last few days before I realised that, so now I have no excuse for not looking swank.

The zen like need to detach yourself from your worldly possessions has turned me into a ruthless anti-hoarder :D As soon as I get better level appropriate gear, I'm trashing the old. Left me in a heap trying to play Crucible cause there are definite advantages to having things like Shotguns and Automatic Rifles when you've got aim as bad as mine :)

I love reading about people exploring the game the first time!

At the start of D1 I sent a friend a screenshot of a really cool green sniper i had found! (Gozen-C and it was terrible really)
Didnt even know blues/purples or exotics even existed yet!

Yeah gotta get close to 540 1st....

I do enjoy the leveling up parts and ohhh shiny....as you stop in the middle of a fire fight to check what you just picked up.

Getting close to 50 so imagine the grind is coming to get from 500 to 540ish

I had a nice hunter set at level 30 but that was with infusing basically everything into everything, now i gotta get things to infuse with :(

I kept my level 30 armour as it had nice matching perk set and it looked cool, basically wearing high level rags at the minute..........the shame...

From 500 to 520/525 do all the milestones (Daily and weekly) and weekly spider bounties.

At around 520 you can start doing the Dreaming City stuff. Do Dreaming City and NF first every week. You will get a bigger boost to your Power Level from this stuff. Leave the other weekly and daily stuff until you've those done. Rinse repeat until you hit 550. From here add the raid to your rotation (even just the first encounter) of what you do first in the week.

There is a soft cap on the milestone rewards. Up to 520 all milestone powerful rewards will be a +5 on your overall power level. After 520, Only raid / NF / Dreaming City will give you a +5/6 to your power level, where all the other stuff will now only give a +2 or so.

  • Moderators, Social & Fun Moderators Posts: 28,633 Mod ✭✭✭✭Shiminay

Yea, I thought about the "high level rags" as you say and my gang had a conversation about it. I'm of the opinion that whilst you're grinding your way to 50 (and I'm at 45 with my Titan now), all criticism of unmatched sets is unwarranted :D I was looking at the Collection of things I have at the moment, no complete purple sets yet, but a few that are close and I'll hopefully pick them up on the way to the next 5 levels. We still haven't even finished the campaign in my group, but I think we're close. We also all got the Forsaken content and so we'll have 2 DLCs and whatever else to go through.

Dont be too quick to dismantle legendary guns with the little forsaken symbol in the top left, those guns cant be taken from collection because the random perk rolls.

And really good perk rolls are not always easy to find.
