Crash barrier could do with being a bit stronger too.

The real question here regarding such an atrocity, what's 13 from 1.3 billion expressed as a fraction?

Not funny I know but my brain works mathematically.

From looking at the footage, I think it was a calculated and purposeful veer to the left in an attempt to throw her off balance and to the other side of the bus.

    Reasons:
    1) Plenty of room on his side of the road to correct his position

    2) If he would have come to a stop on the bridge, her life would have been turned upside down with legal issues for causing a bus driver to crash, whereas he would just get a different bus to drive

But can anyone see an attempt to brake? I think his left leg changes position slightly but I would have expected a more sudden movement.

I do feel bad for the others on the bus who were probably just trying to get from A to B.

No thoughts on the dead or their greaving relatives.

I was at the scene of a very nasty accident this year and idiots whipped out their phones to post on Facebook and other morons on Facebook made jokes.

But I suppose a young girl trapped under a car is funny?

I just keep in mind there are real people involved here.

We should send some of our lads there to teach them how to build things..like schools for example and also how to build grand houses out of Pyrite.

    Yes looks pretty backwards alright.
We need to get the Luas builders over there to show them how to do things.

If they were sweet and not sour none of this would have happened.

The bus driver veered to the left deliberately, no doubt about it at all. The steering wheel was straight, the bus was in the correct lane. He then swings the steering around in a controlled manner and makes no attempt to correct it. There's nothing about his body language either that would make you think he was concerned about crashing into a car and barrier and careering off the edge of a suspension bridge.

People must be watching a different video if they think it was accidental and that he was in the wrong lane and was just trying to avoid a collision.

Before the big veer, you can see cars driving parallel to him out the window. For now I'd say it was intentional, and the passenger either drove him over the edge, or knew he was about to kill everyone.

Looks like a murder-suicide to me.

The bus driver had probably loathed his life and job and finally snapped at that row with the passenger.

    RIP to the victims. :(

I would love to visit but would absolutely hate to have to live there.

The number of experts here is unbelievable!

Patrick Stewart has more tread on his head than any bus in China has on its tyres.

There is a longer version of this incident elsewhere.

I bet most of you that are saying it was deliberately done are cyclists. Motorists go out every day with the sole aim of killing people dont they.

He had his eye off the road for a long time,
when , after a couple of smacks, he tried to re-focus ,he did not know
where he was,he knew he had pulled the wheel over while retaliating, and over-corrected ,
    in my opinion.

Dont you be dragging Patrick Stewart into this!

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue

Everyone's at fault except the hissy-fit passenger.
If the roles were reversed and the driver was a female, the attacker male, it'd be his fault.
Now poor harmless auld Paddy Stewart is being thrown under the bus, as it were.

    ??

No one has said this woman isn’t to blame. There’s just been some talk that perhaps he intentionally swerved.

100% the woman's fault...she doesn't hit the bus driver, nobody dies

I do wonder how they know that she was angry about the driver missing her stop, where did that story come from? Perhaps they have audio recordings as well, but has that been confirmed?

I'm no conspiracy theorist, but is it totally off the wall to wonder if the driver had been acting erratic and she was confronting him because she was scared and wanted him to stop before somebody got hurt?
