    How much is it?

Just a pity that people being replaced by machines in Centra, Sligo.

Not great for the workers or customers , in my view

There's still manned checkouts.. they've moving with the times with practically every larger SuperValu's and Tesco's in the country featuring self-service checkouts.

I live beside a smaller Centra with 2 manned checkouts and I'd kill for a single service checkout instead of a waiting for a single customer to get his / her shopping, then fags, then lotto etc. All while another staff member is stocking shelves.

Just because other places replacing people with machines may be considered " moving with the times", as a justification.
    People gave different views, naturally.
I am concerned about the consequences of machines replacing people

I'd question if they're saving any money, most centras pay minimum wage at best... These machines have a very high initial cost, can be much slower, and are very power hungry...

Is there savings really to be had?

Centra have good offers this week, among them is "Buy one, get one free" on a 6 pack of Free Range Medium sized eggs. That's 12 eggs for €1.89

I'm luvin the pomegranate seeds that they sell, I've been trying to add this to my diet for some time but simply don't have the patience or clean up stamina to get them out of the fruit. So having them expressed into a pack like this is tres handy!! 😀

On special in ALDI now. Just cut in half and whack the skin with the back of a desert spoon, seeds fly out

Thanks for that, I've tried that several times. I found it to be a really messy, tedious and fiddly job, not nearly as straightforward as you've made out.

Roll it around on the worktop first and that'll loosen the seeds. Then they will fly out with the tap of a spoon
