We sort of put up our decorations in phases from the 8th of December. However they'd often be bits floating around the house before this.
Whilst we wouldn't be the earliest to put them up we'd often be the last to take them down.(The inside stuff)

As much as I love Christmas, I think putting the tree up in your house next weekend is too early! I usually wait until December, it's usually around 3 weeks before Christmas

Looking at calendar for this year, personally I'd like to 8/9th, but I know the wife will want it 1/2nd

Used to be about the 10th/11th Dec but that's been sneaking forward every year as the kids & the OH want the decorations up longer, Its generally been the first weekend in December for the lst 2 or 3 years but there's talk of them going up for the Late Late Toy Show on Friday Nov. 30th this year which would be the first time they'll have gone up before the month of December. Though I suspect it'll be the day after, Saturday Dec 1st in reality, as it takes longer than the few hours between getting home from work & the toy show starting to get everything up the way herself & the kids like.
As much as I love christmas I'm not a fan of having the decorations up for 5/6 weeks so I suspect we'll go back to a bit more into december next year & will still take them down before heading back to work on Jan 2nd/3rd.

Start putting out a few bits n pieces from December 6th. Tree goes up on 11th, decorations added daily until 18th when we'll have the great switch on. Stays up 'til January 6th.

The day of the Toy Show for me... hopefully... due to be Moving in the week of the 19th so it'll be a bit chaotic... depending on how the move goes and flooring gets put down will determine alot.

Probably December 1st or 2nd. Nice long run in to Christmas Day!

I didn’t take it down after last Christmas, just lifted it upstairs and put it into the spare room :D

So it will reappear the week before Christmas.

We always have an artificial tree, I'm actually going shopping tomorrow for a new one...can't wait. I'm planning on putting it up on the 23rd, and I'm as excited as any child waiting for that date. :D

When I was younger it always went up the last Sunday before Christmas, I never really understood why until I copped that that was the time my Mam knew all of us would be home for the Christmas holidays from boarding school, so we could help decorate and we wouldn’t be missing anything when we were away.

Now I am a HUGE Christmas fan but even I balk at the tree going up before December. I like the idea of having it up for the Toy show but it’s gotten a bit early for me. We’ll probably put ours up the first or second week of December.

I was informed this morning that the first of our three trees will be going up today.

    This is fantastic.

Remember folks if anyone ever says it’s too early to put the tree up just remind them that you’re drunk already and it’s not even St Patrick’s Day yet. :pac:
