I left the house for the evening to not have to answer the door and not pretend I'm not home. It's usually traveller children around here anyway and we all know now how we feel about THEM.

How many sweets should you give each child who calls?

I am giving them 3 or 4 little treat size ones so malteasers, crunchies etc. But might need to give them multipack bags at this stage or I will end up eating them!

Never have any, probably would just offer directions to the nearest supermarket if I had any callers anyway tbh

Yes, it is essential to start hating them when they are children. If we can alienate them and make them feel discriminated against at a young age it will stick with them for life. Stamp out any chance of them making something of their lives

They lost the chance to make something of themselves when their parents refused to educate them.

Did you have to turn this thread into another traveller debate?

    You brought up traveller children....

    Keep it on topic.

How many trick or treaters have you ate/killed tonight?
Or alternatively just given sweets to

I think you will find that you were the first to mention them on this thread.
I have no intention of getting into that debate.

I live in an apartment complex so thankfully none at all. I’m on the ground floor and have my own front door so one or 2 may come along but I reckon they won’t.

Only 7:49pm and it’s like Beirut circa 1987 out there!!

I pity those AHers living in Celtic Tiger era commuter town housing estates. It must be a nightmare in those places...

Over 80. Ended up having to put a sign up once the three year old went to bed because we had ran out

Had at least 40 I'd say. Didn't have much so asked them to take a couple of items each, some kids got an education that a couple means two! All very appreciative and pleasant kids, decent bunch in my estate.

None. I haven't answered the door.

The kids on our road are all grown up and chic and sophisticated now lol.

    So none here. YET!

But plenty of crackers and stuff going off in the park at the back.

When those kids were nippers I gave em lots and lots of stuff.

When I was a nipper it was monkey nuts and "help the Halloween Party", none of this trick or treating mullarkey either.

But I suppose nuts are out of the question now, allergies. Feck me if I am going to check every bit of sweet stuff for nuts or dairy now. Too old and cranky.

But I loved it back in the day. Nostalgic git that I am.

Sad to see the young ones being taught to celebrate a pagan festival.

None here. We live in the country. Some years we get a few, most years don’t. Have nothing in so fingers crossed no one will turn up.

Bah humbug....I came home late enough. Had no stuff in so hid out. Must have missed the smaller kids. Only had one knock so did not answer the door. Feel terrible now.
