Both you and I know well that the money was not used to buy any property, anywhere.

But I presume you're equally concerned that McAleese wasn't off on a property spree at the State's expense, because the same rules applied to her.

The truth, if you want the truth, is that neiyof is know what the money was spent on and won’t know until after we cast our ballot.

I should have stated clearly, I was referring to our politicians who often refer to their distinguished careers in public service, (Micheal mentioned how proud he was of his 50 years of service) most of whom are school teachers or small town auctioneers, as public service.
Same principle applies - I know about 100 TDs and about 1000 councillors who would disagree with you.

Even though we don't know and I acknowledge that is true are you really putting it up as a serious proposition?

Yes it's all a conspiracy against casey just like everything else.

    I don't doubt they would.

Stop pulling figures out of your arse, unless you have proof that 100 TDs (out of the 156) would be earning more money in the private sector, can you name them?

Soy milk latte presumably? If you're going to use tired and lazy stereotypes to disguise the absence of any meaningful content, you might as well go the whole hog.

Both of us are basing our opinions on faith. My faith is based on the lies and greed of the one who’s word we must depend on.

You came up with a general principle out of your arse and you're complaining about my numbers? Again, where did you get your general principle from?

It was only a joke. Sorry if I went too far
I have posted some serious comments on this thread over the last week so cut me a little slack please.

Do you think Michael D Higgins would have earned the money he has earned, the pensions that he draws down and will draw down in the future, the expenses he enjoys in the private sector?

    OK just checking.

Who knows - calls for speculation, your honour.

Do you think that Duffy, Casey and Gallagher would have got out of the traps without all the free profile building they got from the State broadcaster?

Michael D Highins will be re elected president tomorrow, to serve until he is 84 in 2025. That is a certainty.
The larger the vote for Casey tomorrow, the harder it will be for the establishment to ignore the unhappiness of the people with the tax and spend politics and tyrannical liberalism of the media elite in this country.

He (MDH) has carved a very lucrative career in Irish politics, that is his prerogative, but public service it aint!!

What have Duffy/Casey and Gallagher got to do with this?????? State broadcaster??? What are you on about??????

They are business owners, a different world to an elected official!

Nothing is a certainty, but I for one hope he does.
I don't doubt Casey will get a decent vote tomorrow and it will be really only for his comments on Travellers and people on welfare (imo) some politicians etc I am sure will take note of it they can't not really .
I don't think he will get many votes based on unhappiness with as you put it bizarrely the 'tyrannical liberalism of the media elite' though.

Aw, so unfair - imagine running a good candidate in an election race! Any proper candidates could have run this time round. If they were proper candidates, they'd surely be able to give MDH a run for his money, unlike any of the current five chancers, right?

no they can't run because the FF FG LB love fest decided to back michael d and not put forward any candidates effectively trying to block a contest

That depends on what was done in return. Have a quick look at what the film industry has brought in since he transformed it as Minister and see if we got value for money.

Ever heard of Dragons Den? On RTE?

As my mother used say, 'God help your innocence'.

There will be no change as a result of this. The only thin that will change is barriers to resolving any of these issues have gotten higher, because of an irresponsible, lying egotist hell bent on not finishing last - Peter Casey.
I voted McGuinness no 1 And Higgins No 2 last time, this time it will be Higgins No 1 and Ni Riada No. 2.

Ya...so what, he was advised by officials, he took their advice and made a call...he does what politicians do...he gets well paid for it...best of luck to him...I'll repeat, it ain't public service! Unless you are suggesting he would have had a more lucrative career in the private sector!

What has Dragons Den got to do with this???? Why do you keep on about businessmen????? We are talking about MDH, not reality tv stars who run private businesses!!!

I've a theory many won't bother voting tomorrow, they'll either assume MDH has it in the bag anyway (as we have been continually told) or they just cannot be bothered

Reckon casey voters will be out in force

Don't show up it goes to MDH anyway.
