If the minister has an iota of cop on he will gather all the over 50 yr old teachers and say to them " can you please, please, please retire,(we will enhance your pension by x years) and in doing so will create hundreds of jobs for inequal teachers who might then be able to go to the bank and get a mortgage, start a family and do just normal things rather than be fighting the employer the wholetime!
I find this highly insulting and I'm too old to be called a snowflake. I work in SEN and have worked hard to upskill myself and to run a damn good ship. I support younger colleagues in every way possible at work and through ballots , but it's not my job to pay their bills. Some of us still have mortgages too, you know.

Yes I totally agree, I still love my teaching (not admin).

I would fear of less contact time - am down one period for second year and probably the same for third year. Will also be down a month for those stupid CBAs. I said it before - I'd prefer to correct my second year summer exams than spend a month preparing for CBA that doesn't even carry a proper grade.

The problem with that is they'll probably find a way for you to do that too along with the CBAs and every other hare brained poorly implemented initiative any moron thinks that schools should be doing + all the associated paper trail ass covering reflective evidence gathering that goes with it along with the usual navel gazing collaboration "meetings" etc

Seriously I'd be careful what you suggest etc, divide and conquer has worked imo, they have the profession on the run now because they can't stick to together as they are made up of a number of disparate groups etc etc

Best option now is give them enough rope and they'll hang themselves rather than cut a stick for them to beat you with.

Yes I agree - what I meant was that instead of CBAs which waste time, I would prefer to correct summer tests as I have done for years which would take 10/15 minutes each depending on the subject but definitely not both.

The rope is getting slacker but how long will it take the fantastic JCT to admit they made a mistake. Even our new Minister has said that all theses changes have happened very fast and need examination.
