I don't think it is genuine because of his subsequent actions and I think he was visibly shaken when he realised what he said.

Agreed. Casey talked about equality not division.

The hatred ,mistrust & genuine fear of this ethnic Moronity is real and with good reason if there is a stereotype of travellers as criminal thieving lying tax dodging violent wasters then it is them that have created it by their own actions and behavior.

It makes no difference to anyone but them and does not diminish the status of anybody else or make them more equal or less.

It also does not insulate you from the laws of the land or social responsibilities. If a traveller breaks the law they are just as answerable as the rest of us.

If they aren't then that is the fault of those administering the law to be honest.

You said he "incited hatred" and I say he just gave an opinion that resonated with a very sizeable proportion of the population based on their experiences with the Traveller community.
So he is not inciting hatred. He is empathising.

This guy is looking to be the head of State. Tarred a body of People with one sweeping statement - Will have no power to do anything/change anything, and has opened up an uncountable amount of abuse for the few Travellers that do decide to go to School, and realised a pereception for many more young Travellers.
This is most detrimental to young Travellers, who do not want to be tarred with the same brush, they must now be thinking that they cannot be unmarked.
To a 12 year old the options must seem very limited.

And all because it comes from a person who makes a living ripping off people in a different way. F*ck off.

What sweeping statement, do you mean where he suggested everyone should be treated equally. Hardly a hate crime.
Travellers are travellers own worst enemies. Young travellers if they don't want to be tarred with the same brush as you put it should start calling out the crap they see in their own community.
