Is there any possibility he’s at Aras an Uachtaran right now asking for the president to dissolve parliament? I’m not politically savvy.

Not a hope ... Why would he dissolve the Dáil?

To be fair he is the Taoiseach and wouldn't know about the vast majority of other department meeting I presume... he would be way too busy.

Indeed. It's bizarre when you see the expectations amongst a suprisingly large proportion of the general public of the level of micromanagement that goes on first at Taoiseach level and also at Ministerial level. Some people would have you believe that the Minister for Transport is responsible for individual train/driver issues in CIE.

(This isn't a direct attack on the post you quoted it's just about the mindset in this country)

5 minutes will be provided to each opposition group after Leo's statement is finished. The Céann Comhairle has said the Dáil will remain suspended until 4:30pm.

Leo's statement has just began in the Dáil.

So Naughton has been a bit stupid at the very least ......... given the info it is not surprising he was asked to go.

This has just become a much bigger mess.

Leo just said in the Dáil that Naughten had 3 more private meetings with David McCourt with no state official's present at them. No minutes were recorded for those meetings. What the hell was going on with those meetings between the two of them if the process for the NBP was being finalized.

Education Minister Richard Bruton is being assigned as Minister of Communications for a temporary basis.

It's done. Gone. Finito. It'll result in a Tribunal if it goes ahead.

I remember meeting Minister Bruton when I was working with the ISSU talking to him about rural schools and their voice and role. Was a complete twat about everything I said and seemed like a stuck up wanker if I do say so myself.

Really disappointed to see him appointed in even a temporary capacity.
