    I believe so, but I heard an interview with Bateman recently where he said they left Season 1 wide open to either end there or renew, and they've done the same with Season 2.

    What are you on about? Where did I say it's a burden? I mostly enjoyed it; I just felt with a little more attention to detail and accuracy it could have been a lot better.

    Just finished it and thought it was great too. Thought s2 started a bit slowly but it picked up strongly from the mid way point.

    Just a couple of after-thoughts since I finished it last week.


    In the diner scene at the booth you have to assume Jacob and Darlene met, Jacob said to Marty some line about
    "the woman that takes your breath away becomes the woman you fear" (not the exact quote, I'm paraphrasing)

    "What do you do, Martin, when the bride who took your breath away becomes the wife who makes you hold your breath in terror?"

    then we forward to the look on Marty's face at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the realisation of what his own wife has become.
    I mentioned further up that the female characters were far more prominent in this season than in the first - I'm now wondering if perhaps that was foreshadowing as Wendy goes head first into her new role and eventually will off Marty? The lawyer speaking so highly of her, her willing to do things without remorse (Marty still feels bad about stuff, Wendy clearly doesn't) etc. I really am wondering if Wendy will become "the head of the family" in every sense?
    The lawyer, Wendy, and Darlene arguably were the strongest/toughest characters in this season; and certainly so in the last few episodes.



    Two things I've always liked about the show:
    1. It uses music really well, and from a lot of different genres
    2. I love the Ozark logo shot and how it changes every week. I find it very creative for such a small thing.

    Just finished watching the second series. Very good. Acting by everyone went up a notch. Laura Linney in particular was outstanding. Ending left it open so hopefully there is a third series.

    I wasn't sold on Series 1, and only started watching Series 2 cos the OH was watching it.

    I think Series 2 was better.

    Would also echo the comments on the actors, think LL was excellent but surely Ruth stole the series, she was superb imho.

    Season 2 was really good, liked the way it was Wendy who is "breaking bad".

That episode made me lean towards sticking with the show, for better or worse. I play episode 8...what does this show do? You know that thing where modern shows, especially streaming shows, have like a 10-12 episode season, and then around episode 8/9 they have a "gimmick" episode? Think Stranger Things, Season 2 Episode 7. I was actually expecting a gimmick episode, because this show is such a copycat of much better series, in both terms of style and format. Anyways, episode 8 starts playing..."2007"...I just laugh. Episode 8 of the second season is a flashback gimmick episode, too.

    All the episodes are quite a slog to get through as well, most are a few minutes over the hour mark.

    So many (all, maybe) characters make terrible, unrealistic, bizarre choices and decisions, you're sat there watching confused, wondering why any of them are doing any of the things they're doing. It's really slow, then suddenly a dozen different things are happening because they have to get to their next twist or threat, or "shockingly" kill someone off. We got more cliffhangers here, please keep binging.

    But the best (or worst?) thing about this awful show that I'm going to love to continue to hatewatch is, this magnificently silly character...

    She cusses, she acts tough, and...she looks like a strong fart could knock her over, and probably kill her. That voice, that accent, ugh. Most of the times when I nearly quit the show, were because of her.

    Finished watching season 2 and I binged watched it, it was far superior to the first season, season 3 should be a hum dinger I'd say.

    The Byrde Family is returning to the Ozarks on Netflix but fans will have to wait a little longer.

    Netflix original series "Ozark" was renewed for a third season, last October -- two months after the premiere of its second season. The upcoming season will return with 10 episodes and continue where the Byrde family left off with the launch of the casino boat. While it is one of the most anticipated Netflix originals, fans won't get "Ozark" Season 3 in 2019 and should expect the series in 2020 and here is why.

    When will Netflix release the series?

    Jason Bateman, who plays Marty Byrde in the lead role, revealed prior to filming Season 3, that he would take a little break from acting. This led to a delay in filming Season 3 of the show which just wrapped up production after six months of shooting. Julie Garner, who portrays fan-favorite Ruth Langmore, revealed on her Instagram account that the "Ozark" Season 3 cast has finished filming.

    "That’s a wrap on Season 3 of [Ozark!]," she wrote in the caption. "I love this cast and crew so much! xx"

    Yep Netflix usually have a recap if you go into the "Trailers and more" section. I'm sure there's plenty on Youtube too.

    Indeed he knocked the ball out of the park.
    His portrayal of bipolar disorder was awesome.

    Great season,so engrossing in a similar fashion to not wanting to put down a good book.The acting is just of such a high quality and one builds a connection with all the characters.
    Helen's demise was both telegraphed and predictable.No more Ozark otherwise.

    Love the so called hilly billy brigade Ruth,Wyatt and the badass Darlene.Not such a big fan of the love smitten Darlene,more the Frank junior version.:D

    Two episodes into the new season. Am alone in thinking this is absolutely horrendous? Enjoyed the first couple of seasons, without really being blown away, but this is truly awful stuff.

    It's not exactly plausible but I find it terrifically entertaining. Every episode just moves along at a great pace, it's never boring or feels like it's dragging despite each episode being quite long.

    Great cast this season too. Tom Pelphry was also amazing in Banshee.

    im on episode 4 and i think it is moving along nicely and homelander is correct it never gets boring
    not sure about tommy from power playing the spoilt brat of the mob boss though

    It's not a subtle show, in its writing or aesthetics, and can stretch credulity at times, but I love how it manages to keep its leads in a constant state of Crisis Management throughout. There's always a new f*ckup, always some new attempt to placate opposing forces for the sake of the Birds' hides. It's greatly entertaining stuff. Can't imagine the Ozarks tourist board love the show though lol

    Arguably Ruth has become its MVP to use the American sports term. Nominally the Bird family are the leads, but Ruth is that brilliant character structure of someone both ostensibly vicious, but also deeply sympathetic. Props to Julia Garner for threading that needle so well.
