I went through a phase 2 years ago listening to it in work, then I stopped. I started again recently and honest to God, they are still playing the same music.

I'd take Today FM over 2FM presenters roaring and shouting into the mike, I'd love to jam a sock down Jennifer Zamparellis's gob. Ditto for Spin.

As opposed to Fergal “I know this lad right, and he soooooo sound right” Darcy.

As soon as they hired that absolute asshat, I stopped listening to today fm. He is without question the worst presenter on radio ever.

I haven't listened to the radio since the 90s, for a period where I didn't have a telly. I much prefer to listen to music that I want to listen to.

It has Ron Jones and Brian Kerr on some of the 3pm Saturday football games so as far as I'm concerned it's the greatest radio station in existence.
How can you listen to Brian Kerr? I've never heard him on the radio but just can't tolerate him doing commentary or panel work on the telly. I'll always switch to another station if there's an alternative (and I know others who do the same).

I went to school with Fergal. He hasn't changed.

Sometimes when I get into the wife's car she'll have the radio tuned to Today FM and that American one will be on yapping about some absolute inanities in an accent that would make your ears vomit. I wonder to myself 'how can people listen to this **** day in day out?'

    Would drive me insane anyway.

Got a lift to Dublin last week from a work colleague and two dudes who I believe are called Dermot and Dave, were taking turns to laugh like a hyena at whatever the other one would say. Jesus it was a long 2 hours.

There is an ad for a TodayFm school of djing or something and the American one, Canadian Alison Curtis, is one of the "teachers" on it showing people how to conduct interviews. any time I happen upon her all she seems to do is read out texts

I listen to matt cooper is all, am over 40 so only listen to talk radio and stuff I pick myself on Amazon music

    KCLR ...

Best station 'on your dial' .....

Why are there soooooo many female djs now? Surely they have gone above their quota?
With their American/D4 accent, and laddette attitudes , it makes me change channel immediately .......................... !!

I get your point about the female accents and the always-up-for-it-fun-time-gals vibe, which is fairly tiring - I would like a ladies voice that is pitched lower and with slower, steadier delivery, more intelligent, basically. But what about the fellas? Every time I accidentally hear male radio djs now I wonder what the heck is going on with the uber-camp gender-fluid screamy exaggerated everything? It's like they are all wearing their trousers waaahay too tight. It's cringey.

He is definitely up there. I've only heard him a few times but it is more than enough.

I would say Today FM is one of the better radio stations to be honest, although all daytime radio is terrible. Kellyanne Byrnes show 'The Beat Goes On' on Saturday & Sunday nights is brilliant. Ed Smith and Paul McLoone are pretty good as well, so is Nadine O'Regan but not sure if her show is on anymore, Joe Donnelly another that was great but he has left recently. I couldn't even name other presenters on most other radio stations which says a lot.

For daytime radio Nova is arguably the best of a bad bunch but I hate that it feels like their station is trying to be like an american rock station you would hear in Grand Theft Auto. Your man Pat Courtney that's on around 5.00pm wrecks my head. TXFM is sorely missed!

It's not only Today FM though, all commercial stations are ****e,it's all geared around the advertising and inane drivel and talking over the music and cutting off tracks because of time constraints as they have to break for the news or adverts as they have run out of time because of their hilarious banter.
Torture would be being made to listen to it,day in day out
As someone already said "Thank God for Spotify" And if I want to catch up on news read it on my Smartphone
Don't get me started on local stations either "The death has occurred............."
    AArrrrrghhh!!

They seem to be playing to the teenage audience. I enjoyed when they had a talk show on at 10ish, beit Ray or Anton. But now its drivel. It started to go down hill when they gave Louise Duffy her own show in the afternoon.
There are so many frankly awful presenters there. Fergal Darcy, McSweeney, Duffy. D and D are just about managable.
Even Matt has become very liberal to the point of being irritating.
The station has had a terrible fall in the space of 2-3 years. Its just dreadful now.

I dumped this station around the time Anton Savage left (Not that I was a massive fan of his - that was just the time).

They totally made a balls of it with almost all (bad) comedians on from 9am to 4:30

And I was already sick of wakening up to Ian Dempsey who has been phoning it in for years and years. Mario Rosenstock, the same! He went totally downhill when he started spending his time doing live shows. His sketches just became ridiculous!

But I hate 2FM even more!!!

2FM and Lottie effin Ryan make me want to chew my arm off - never listen to it

BBC 6Music all day, every day for me.

Since the demise of TXFM (which was a pale shadow of Phantom), there are literally no shows that I'm interested in.

Used to be Newstalk all day but what sh!te it has become.

    Fcuk Henry McKean!

Anyway, BBC Radio iPlayer is available over 'ere:

Sean Moncrieff is the funniest guy on radio. He
acts serious and interviews some crazy people only to read out texts from the public pulling the piss out of them once they're gone.

The old Matt did...the current Matt sides with whatever SJW they happen to have on for the particular topic

The increase in the amount and length of the ad breaks in his show became intolerable for me a number of years ago.

I've given up listening to Irish commercial radio, as to me its a mush of all the same stuff. Podcasts and spotify in the car/garage

Especially with the new music, if it can be called that, is a deterrent in itself let alone the so called presenters!
