Body cams especially. They would a least already be caught. Boggles the mind why they aren't already in place for all Guards. Protects both sides.

    Not good enough ,

All Garda should be given specialist firearm training and every guard should be issued a 9mm firearm

Very PC with only your rubber bullets :p

Whoever was the last judge to give any of these vermin a suspended sentence should have them released into their homes with their kids and partners and the doors should be sealed shut for a minimum of 2 hours.

Another example of people in Irish society who have no fear or respect for the law of the land. Until scumbags start getting proper sentences these type of instances will happen. Wheter it's a Guard, a rural farmer or innocent person just walking down the street these situations seem to be becoming more common in part due to lack of fear of actual punishment from the courts.

Any stats to back that assertion up?

Yeah nothing screams good idea like these same 'individuals' being able to arm themselves well - for protection of course...

Rubber bullets as a trial. If it fails I’ll have no issues with swapping up to the old leaded kind.full auto.pull the trigger and keep her pulled.double time on sundays and bank holidays.bonuses added for multiple scum fatalities

They'll know exactly who these little scrotes are.

Hastle them off the streets everyday see how they get on with their business then.

Would you have wanted the Gardai to shoot them in this scenario?

I shouldn't worry, all the fellas that attacked the Guard have done is to bring the heat upon themselves, I expect they will all get a free spin in the back of a van over the next few weeks during which they'll wish they hadn't been born.

Not without a body cam. The Irish equivalent of a 'black man shot while running away' type policing is not welcome in this state thank you very much.

Why don't you have a little look through this amazing search tool called Google see if you find anything recently about scumbag behaviour.

I'll help you out with the first one https://www.google.ie/amp/s/www.irishtimes.com/news/crime-and-law/crime-rate-increases-significantly-over-past-year-1.3443096%3fmode=amp

They don’t know any different, their iq is so low that you have to dig for it.

If that isn't treated as a direct assault on the country and the writ of law then it is a clear encouragement to others.

It is way more serious than the drug dealing or if they robbed a bank.
