My place of work is about 300 m from the sea, and we often get wintering birds sheltering in the lawn at the back of the building in winter, and picking on fresh worms.
Most of the time we get very large flocks of oystercatchers, but I'm pretty sure we've had curlews turning up too. It gets very windy of course at times.

Great excitement for children when a whole flock settles in at the back for a while.

Actually, that location by the sea is a very nice THness.
I get to see the sea every morning on my way, or I can just pop out for lunch by the shore.

All my French family from Lyon and Montelimar are dead jealous of all that sea I get to enjoy all year round. It's beautiful on winter mornings.

I had a friend from Texas here in summer and will never forget the look on her face as she gazed at the ocean .

Love the isolation winter ocean brings when we are cut off; just us and the birds and seals

Last week in reception of my accommodation they were doing a thing where you could paint and design a pot, and the day after they had compost and seeds you could plant. I planted mine with sunflowers and today I noticed that green is beginning to pop up from the compost :D

My lung function has gone from my lowest ever of 45% to 59% in the space of 10 days of IV antibiotics. I haven't seen it come up that high in at least a couple of years and to be honest I thought the lung function was lost. It's more than a TH.

Not the going that is a concern.. is the coming back! And we are subsidised like many islands, we residents..;)

Coming back was.. interesting as the wind decided to get rough...bucking bronco .. but safe home...

More than TH;; if you ever get the chance to use the Nephin Drive road...links from Crossmolina or Castlebar.. ... awesome, amazing, far longer than I ever thought it was. Scenery to bring tears of awe.
