Husband sees cat on the wall and calling the cat in and getting annoyed at said cats disdainful ignoring of him . Called and called him in and eventually shut the door in a huff . Came in to see our cat curled up on the couch . Husband was calling in the wrong cat !! Made me laugh out loud

^. I love cats. Today on the Camino i sat at a church in Bierzo and had a prepacked tuna salad. A heavily pregnant Ginger cat came by and let me pet her for a few spoons of tuna. :)

Aww he's a real beauty, I'd have some job trying to get any accessory on our little madam:D

He's an indoor cat so he doesn't even wear a collar (although he is microchipped just to be sure to be sure), so I was so surprised when he didn't put up a fight. He just looked mildly annoyed :D

Hahaha similar thing happened my dad. When we were kids he caught us with the cat in the house one morning. He hated us taking the cat inside so he threw it back out and brought us to school.

On his way home he saw the cat outside, flattened on the road. He was distraught. Thought we'd never forgive him. So he decided to bury him in secret. But he didn't want an animal to dig it up so he literally drove miles and buried him in a random field. He was crying and everything. He returned home and heres the cat on the windowsill waiting to be let back in. He buried someone else's cat.

    Lighting the stove again.

Sitting room is nice and toasty, wine is about to be poured, Indian takeaway and a nice family movie is on the cards.

A very good friend of mine came down from Dublin to visit me in hospital today. We went to the pub across the road for some lunch and we had such a lovely chat. I felt so touched that she made the effort to come down to see me and it was so nice to get out. She also got me a beautiful infinity necklace and I thought that the symbol was really touching. Feeling glad that I have such a good friend even if things aren't so good in my life right now.

Brought the little fella off to the barbers today and we were like daddy bear and baby bear going around the place wearing the same colour geansaí and trousers. Arrived at the barbers and I held his little hand throughout his time on the chair while another barber cut my hair next to him. By the end of it I put on his little blue coat, which was like a baby version of my blue coat, and in the pocket was a cute little dinosaur hat with fins or whatever they're called sticking out on the top. Put his little gloves on and we walked home again, interspersed with his climbing up on my shoulders to see the world from a bit higher and be able to touch the branches of trees as we walked on the path. The happiness he got from being up so high that he could touch the branches. At bed time he waddled up the stairs in front of me, counting each step and when he got to the cot I lifted him in and read the nicest little adventure to him about a daddy bear and his baby bear, aptly enough called Béirín, who get lost in a wood and little Béirín almost drowns while jumping across rocks in a river.

Ah but the ending, the ending. Every daddy bear reading to every baby bear would be moved by it.

In town around 9am this morning, pretty cold. Couple pass with a puppy in the girls arms wrapped in a massive fleecy blanket.

Obviously had to say hello. Think he was a chocolate labrador - 8 weeks old. Oh my days - he was to die for :)

This entire story is so adorable. I feel like I recognise that book, I feel like it may have been read to me in English when I was little

Our 14 year old did the old keep-real-quiet-from-bedtime-onwards trick tonight - successfully. After finally chasing her off to bed a short time ago, when saying good night to her, I said something like "my girl" and she said "my Dad" and held her hand up for a high-five, followed by a hug. Brilliant.

Knowing that you can be there for a friend, as trivial as it may be, in a time of need/want. As only you can hope someone will be there for you in your time of need/want. I'm lucky to be that someone, for someone. Texas forever six.

Yesterday, pulling up a potato stalk as I passed to get turf... Awed at the number of big potatoes that came with it, so could not resist getting a bucket and seriously harvesting.... Crouched in the teeth of a strong wind off the open ocean a small field away..., One of those timeless moments..as it has been here for generations....feeling the connectedness.

Digging is beyond me and the patch is seriously overgrown and a mess, so I put layers of cardboard, then some old hay from the shed.... a few potatoes from a bag atop the cardboard, under the hay

The result is happy-making.... a good crop of fine big clean red potatoes. And the cardboard and hay have mulched down so next year that strip will be for peas and broad beans etc and a new strip started for potatoes

Happy to be growing good food again after many years with no garden

4 months living out of suitcases. Had to clean my new room top to bottom which took most of the weekend but I have finally managed to hang some clothes in a built in wardrobe that covers one whole wall. This is majorly TH for me - order of sorts :)

Was sipping the last drop and thinking of using the empty Danzka Vodka bottle for a target for shooting but something told me google how to recycle it first, and it turns out it can be used as a vacuum flask.

And on closer inspection the labels are only stuck on, what a result.

I don't even use flasks but I'm going to start.

    I couldn't be happier.

My neighbour's 18 month old girl insisted I go to her playroom to play with Lego. She sees my as her friend, not someone the same age as her Granny. Very sweet.

Being able to look out the window and decide to take a walk. No timetables, appointments, obligations or stresses.
We may even do lunch while we're out; who knows?
