Aww … the 'buy as gift' discount seems to have been closed out on the Microsoft Store online :'(
Glad I stockpiled a few when I could...

Not too bad so, will start the download tomorrow and it should be downloaded by the time I get home.

    It does look very good.

Change region to New Zealand and retry?

I've been using Game Pass for the last month. It's amazing how my attitudes to certain games have changed because they're there. I've been open minded when it came to most games but with Game Pass I've played and really enjoyed games I may not have paid for or was on the fence. Unfortuately, I had a lot of games on it all ready but got to play Abzu, Rime etc. Was never a fan of Halo but gave the Master Chief collection ago and really enjoyed it (well, just played Halo: CE).

Also, I love Hitman. I've been a poor student for most of the year, so new games weren't really an option. I would buy at least one second-hand game per month. Hitman didn't depreciate very quick and they originally released the game episodically but it's on Game Pass, so it's great. €10 covers or is less that what I would spend a month on used games anyway. So the price is good. I can pick up hard copies for collection's sake when they're super cheap.

Just waiting for Horizon 4 now!

That was a good tip. Changed to NZ and it worked ok (although just seems to be a demo from what I can make out). In the settings it said no HDR detected even though I have a 4k tv. Does look amazing though

HDR worked for me. Mine also said Demo but that's just a glitch nearaunch time. Think I've seen that on games in the past.

You should be able to switch back to Ireland today and still play :)

This is my first time using Gamepass but I see Forza is playable on pc aswell.

Just wondering if my save comes with me to pc and then pack to the Xbox if going between pc and xbox.

Or is it 2 different save profiles?

Saves are in the cloud so it will carry over (or it should at least).

That is unreal. Looks like I'll be giving it a download in PC so I can use my wheel.

Unfortunately have just discovered that my Sony 4k Ultra HD tv doesn't support HDR10 - I had just presumed that it would. Its a 2015 model so predates the HDR10.

    Forza still looks amazing though

There's so many little things in FH4 that makes me smile, this is on top of the massive amounts of fun flying around the map in an eclectic range of cars.

Things like the bonus you get for knocking down traffic cones (called Road Open) and buzzing past a tractor on the road with a trail of cars behind it.

You know that Playground games are confident of their game when they can put nice touches like that (or the changing fleeces on the sheep depending on the season). Well worth the price of Game Pass alone.

Yeah I'm loving this. Only got a few races in lastnight but it's great, finished on a scramble event and it was just a joy to play.

Anybody else get a free formula drift pack when installing it on PC via game pass\play anywhere? This one:

Yeah, that pack is included with Game Pass.

I heard that while you get access to the cars, you don't get a free car from the DLC. Can you confirm?

When you purchase the game and DLC, you get one car for FREE from the Autoshow for each DLC car. I can confirm that this was the case for me in all FH games, including this one. I have the Ultimate edition, and was awarded the Drift Pack and a Bond Pack (bond cars and some character outfits). When you go to the Autoshow, click DLC cars button, then you browse the packs and price is FREE for the first time, then, after you get it for free, it will switch to an amount. So, I heard from some people that it shows the amount from the get go for people on GamePass. This is not a bug, it's how they intended the DLC to work on GamePass.

Couple of questions on Game Pass. Do games get removed after a certain time? If you download a game and then it gets removed, is it still playable?

The whole feature is almost a reason to buy the console and worryingly has me researching X deals. :(

Yes games get removed, but I do not believe there is a set period or a pattern, I guess it all depends on the business deal behind it and whether a game is popular or not. Much the same as Netflix really.

When a game is removed you will need to purchase it to continue to play. MS will announce in advance what games are being removed and you can purchase it at a discount.

It's basically the same as Netflix, things get added and removed all the time.

It's a safe enough bet the first party exclusives won't be removed though.

Good time to buy an X, lots of decent bundle deals around. ;)

There is and the last thing I need is another means to play games but the mind wants what it wants!

I'll try hold off until Black Friday if I can.

Just got game pass, downloaded Quantum Break and OnRush. Will try FH4 too. Really tempted to upgrade to an X.. but my current controller from my Day 1 has a faulty charging port so I won't be able to trade in. Will hang on for a good priced X outright..

Highly likely they won't even check the charging port anyway unless it looks damaged

Well, when Forza Horizon 4 came out I got game pass 6 minths for 40ish quid and its not even a month in, but I am pretty sure it already payed for itself. Having some extra time due to holidays helps!

Played about 30h of forza so far and still going. Actually hunting some achievements now. A thing that I do extremely rarely! Love this game.

Then I decided to try out State of Decoy 2. Really looked meh when I sow it on release, but I though I might give it a wee go.
It Was a mistake!!! 30h in and on my NG+ on second map! The game does has its issues, like REALLY annoying enclave system. Where you are constantly annoyed by other groups, who think that you agree on any ****y job they want you to do! Then get pissed off with you when you just busy doing other crap. Or when you spend crap load of time to help enclave to get them allied so you can use their good perk, but then when you missed one of their stupid fetch quest, they just feck off!!!!!!
It is rough around the edges and its a smaller budget game, but damn its addictive and good!!! It really nails rogue like feeling.

Played some Sea of thiefs with my daughter and I really liked it. Unfortunately she only interested in Fortine right now, so we dont play it much. She did liked it, at least she said. Again, unfortunately for me, its a game, which does not play well solo.

Anyway, tl:dr version of my post: Game pass is really damn good value and gives you ability to play games, which you would not buy in the first place. I would never had bought state of decoy 2 or Sea of thiefs, but I am so glad I am not missing out on games like this.
When I am bored with these games, I will definitely try something else in game pass that is outside my comfort zone.

Oh, another benefit of game pass. I played Wasteland 2 on pc and loved it. The way life goes, I dont have much opportunity to play on pc, so wanted to buy it on xbox. I am glad I did not and it was on game pass. Its just unplayable on xbox. Game pass saved me 40 quid now.

New games added for Halloween. It would have been more of a surprise, but they all leaked ages ago.

Social media guys played it cool though, and totally styled it out:

According to the Microsoft earnings call, Microsoft are looking at bringing Game Pass to PC. That'll be interesting if they get third parties to sign up to it properly. EA Origin Access is similar, but I don't know how that is doing.

    See here.
