Who wrote, among others, "Money in the bank", "Spring Fever", "Pigs have wings" and "Aunts aren't gentlemen"? Full name, please.

Sorry for the delay - real life keeps getting in the way:

What's the odd one out, and why?

    French horn
    Sousaphone
    Saxophone
    Trumpet
    Trombone
    Tuba

Saxophone - the mouthpiece has a reed which the others don't have (admittedly, it's an uneducated guess).

Not really what I'm looking for.

Is one of them a woodwind instrument while the rest are brass?

I thought the French horn might be, but I was getting confused with the English horn (cor anglais).

I would have had the sax as the odd one out for the reason above but it's just a guess.

If not the above I'm guessing how the sound is produced - all but the sax produce sound from the horn.

Going back to the start of the comp or just since Europe was included in 1979?

I think it’s 16 if you go back the full way and 8/9 after. Roughly :D

As Europe since 79, I make it 10.

I had meant as Europe since '79, in which case the number I have in mind is higher than Srameen's guess.

Yep I'm pretty sure it's 11 in the European era and 18 total. Beasty wins the watch.

    OK, so a similar question

Throughout the history of the Ryder Cup how many players have represented GB, GB&I and/or Europe from jurisdictions that are not currently part of the EU?

It's more than 1, but according to my reference Sandolin was considered Swedish, not Finnish.....
