Where would you find a Purlicue?

I know the answer to this almost as well as I know the back of my own hand... ;)

I have a question open (if Feargale confirms my answer) - so I’ll leave this one for someone else.

They are all named after a person or persons?

I can fit in Columbus, King Philip of Spain, Bolivar and King Saud the Bawd, and I think the Seychelles may be named after some French guy, but Swazi escapes me, a local king or chieftain?

Correct - I thought that would take longer!!

No takers so I will answer - is it the stretchy skin between your thumb and your forefinger?

Towards the end of the film Gone with the Wind there is a shot of the gravestone of Gerald O'Hara, Scarlett's father. Which Irish county does it name as his birthplace?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,887 ✭✭✭IrishZeus

    That's it.

A random one that is somewhat related to the limb in question - what is a "gowpen"?

Just as an aside - I was married in one of these locations exactly 27 years ago today. It's not the answer though as I have never been married in any of the others.

    :)

    Felicitations.

P.S. Who said "a girl should marry for love, and keep on marrying until she finds it"?

It has to be Zsa Zsa Gabor, surely?

It was indeed. A woman who knew a thing or two about cash flow.

P.S. Any takers for Gerald O'Hara of Gone with the Wind. Native county?

    Monaghan?

I'd say it's wrong, but at least I can eliminate one for the rest of you. :p

Correct. I don't think it's the first one that would come to mind, not where emigration is concerned anyway.

    Presuming not at this stage.

Gowpen is the name given to the hollow that is formed when you cup your hands together.

What world record does Wicklow hold having snatched the crown from Australia? Brrrr
