I see you’ve thanked the posts but not said if we’re right or wrong.... I presume we’re wrong? :D

Beat me to it. That would be my guess too. O'Neill has a Doctorate in Education

Is it academia? I know 3 of them have some academic teaching qualifications but not sure about O'Neill.

Sorry IZ, I got side-tracked and forgot to reply. :)

Oldgoat is the closest - they all have PhDs, mostly unrelated to their shobiz/sport careers. Brian May has a PhD in Astrophysics, Peter Weller one in Italian Renaissance Art History, Greg Graffin one in History of Science, Shaquille O'Neal earned a doctoral degree in Education, and Mayim Bialik, whom I left out of the list, has a PhD in Neuroscience.

    I eat pressure for breakfast!
    /Tightens Rambo type bandana.

I recently watched a documentary on the very talented Japanese film director Akira Kurosawa, he of 'The Seven Samurai' fame. Apparently his father and generations of his paternal bloodline were actual samurai.
Two of his many films were based on Shakespearean plays but set in feudal Japan. One film, 'Throne of Blood', was based on Macbeth. What play was the other film 'Ran' based on?

Pure guess, but Hamlet and King Lear are the usual suspects for this kind of thing.

I was going to say Hamlet, but my reasoning is about as scientific as Srameen's!

King Lear, as looksee took Hamlet.

    And the winner is...

(extra long pause for tension building)
    ...
    Srameen.

Yep, Ran is based on King Lear.

I really must change that signature, been using that one for way too long.
Serendipitous that you mention it though, I making a tagine tomorrow. It will be lamb or mutton if I can find some, I've not had goatmeat in ages.

Would they be among the first areas to be completely flooded if the ocean levels kept rising at this rate?

    No, neither.

Ok, I checked them up and Nambuto is a mystery but the connection between the others accounts for why I needed to check them :D

Ha, same here. I knew Nambutu from where it was “featured” but had no idea of the others or the link between them.

Great question Srameen, doubt anyone will get it.

I only know one of them, and it's in Casino Royale. It doesn't exist. So are they all places made up for Bond Villians/Storylines?

One of my old bosses always used to say that he had a "jobeen" for me (they never were "eens", but still)... So obviously a Srameen is a small Sram. :pac:

    Not mean. Thorough. :)

Srameen is just an anagram of family names excluding my own.

Precisely. Everything from Yes Minister to Tintin, to Bond to The West Wing.

    You next question please.

Not a clue. I'd guess aircraft design or some such.
