Finally cracked open my bottle of 2015 Black Boar last night to celebrate last week's Berlin marathon, don't know how I managed to keep it until now but it aged magnificently, must try and age more imperials in the future.

Is that horrible metallic taste gone?

    It's a different beer now.

Sound. I'll check that out. The original range by Foxes Rock was not my favourite.

Maybe someone might get them over for a tap takeover. They are very small cans wise

David Guilfoyle, formerly of trouble brewing is their head brewer now I believe.

Was not a fan of the old one. Has this a different label?

They've just changed the labels to more solid colours, though I think the much-improved versions pre-date that switch.

Very old school. They changed the spelling to "Peculier" decades ago to appear more old-timey.

Great to see M & S selling Bear Republic beers. Lovely bottle of Racer 5 earlier.

I had a nice session IPA yesterday at the Irish craft beer festival. It's from Hope brewery and 4.5%.

Black Donkey IPA was very tasty, sampled on home ground in Roscommon!

    First time trying this :

Really good, unbelievable rasberry smell on first opening.

Really enjoyed a Cloudwater Citra Eukanot BBC DIPA the other night. Had really gone off them because I felt the price wasn't worth it and they had gone down the route of very fruity beers which isn't for me. This had a lot more bite to it than I expected and was a welcome change from so many syrupy beers I've been coming across lately.

Embrace the cans. It's a better way of keeping beer fresh.

Can also go in the green bin and save you a trip to the bottle bank where you go “Jesus, did I drink all that?”

+ lighter, less prone to breaking due to droppage

I'd agree with that ! One of their better efforts in recent times and 7 quid is just about alright... Few beers previously been 8 quid or over

Loads of stuff going over here this weekend. Indy man.

Nice board but expensive, broccoli was delicious.

Yea it's good. Actually all the recent drops have been nice, although quite similar. I think Whiplash hazies show more of the hop character?

I wonder if they plan to change their branding/naming to make the different beers a bit more memorable?

I doubt I'll be able to remember in a year which one of these beers was better:

    IPA Citra Ekuanot BBC
    IPA Citra BBC Ekuanot

    :pac:

Northern Monk Brewing Hit the North BRUT IPA, can’t say a bad thing about it to be honest, lacking maybe in carbonation which I like but one I would definitely drink again.

Guinness Foreign Extra. A fine stout, loads of flavour.
