Finally cracked open my bottle of 2015 Black Boar last night to celebrate last week's Berlin marathon, don't know how I managed to keep it until now but it aged magnificently, must try and age more imperials in the future.

They've just changed the labels to more solid colours, though I think the much-improved versions pre-date that switch.

Very old school. They changed the spelling to "Peculier" decades ago to appear more old-timey.

I had a nice session IPA yesterday at the Irish craft beer festival. It's from Hope brewery and 4.5%.

Really enjoyed a Cloudwater Citra Eukanot BBC DIPA the other night. Had really gone off them because I felt the price wasn't worth it and they had gone down the route of very fruity beers which isn't for me. This had a lot more bite to it than I expected and was a welcome change from so many syrupy beers I've been coming across lately.

I'd agree with that ! One of their better efforts in recent times and 7 quid is just about alright... Few beers previously been 8 quid or over

Yea it's good. Actually all the recent drops have been nice, although quite similar. I think Whiplash hazies show more of the hop character?

I wonder if they plan to change their branding/naming to make the different beers a bit more memorable?

I doubt I'll be able to remember in a year which one of these beers was better:

Northern Monk Brewing Hit the North BRUT IPA, can’t say a bad thing about it to be honest, lacking maybe in carbonation which I like but one I would definitely drink again.
