    No, can't be bothered.

I reminded people that this was a discussion forum so various things were going to be discussed.
I reminded people not to use naughty words or to over generalise.
Sorry if my English wasn't up to scratch.
I honestly don't know what else I was expected to do.

I am always open to suggestions.
Please tell me how you would have like it worded!
I think the whinging posters would have liked to have seen some defence of their stance in order to validate their screwed up world view of tolerance of the gimme, gimme, gimme gang.

I do yes, I can read even when something is very badly written.

    Grammar nazis not welcome
Not everybody is as perfect as you are. Some people have learning difficulties. Some people are dyslexic. Some people are stupid and finally some people just don't care about their spelling and grammar. It's not your job to police them.

Feel free to report any posts that may need moderator attention. (lazy use of txt spk for example).

    😉

    I said
No naughty words or over generalising.
So this basically covers any discrimination to people in the travelling community.

Referring to the children as “f*cking children”?
Maybe it’s your comprehension and not his English? I understood him fine.

Curiously another mod posting here had to raise the issue of how Cash's children were being referred to on this thread at the help desk. Cash is fair game considering her wish to promote herself on social media, but why people think her children are fair game is beyond me.

Nothing wrong with my comprehension. He did not say that referring to the children as "****ing children" was unacceptable. He said that it upset some people.

Very poor behaviour from a moderator.

With all due respect Mgt Cash is the only one using her children as fair game, for photo ops and publicity. The way people are speaking about her children personally makes me uncomfortable but she is the one parading them around like show ponies for a free house

And not to do it again? I’m not sure about you but I’d take that as a mod direction not to refer to the children as ****ing children, as it’s not acceptable. If you need it spelling out clear as day then it’s your understanding that’s awry. Anyway, this is boring. Isn’t there somewhere else you could question moderators behaviour rather than pissing all over this thread?

I dealt with this issue. If I missed a post tell me.
I'll moderate when the children are called names, comments about their appearance, etc.
However some chat about the children will crop up now and then and I don't see why this should be stopped.

Why this hasn't been an issue for RTE/Newspapers is strange normally their faces would be obscured but maybe permission was sought and granted.

rather than pissing all over this thread?

That happened a long time ago..
This is a typical train wreck of a thread on boards and just goes round and round with pathetic insults on both sides of the argument.

So that makes the comments directed at her kids alright then?. The children are victims of circumstance, Cash is fair game because of her actions her children didn't put themselves in the situation they are in.

But as their mother it’s up to her to do her best to protect them. Despite having no job, no income, no home, she continues to have child after child, she turned down places to stay in order to leave her little children lying on seats in a public waiting room, for photo ops and publicity. She has their little faces plastered all over her social media, the news, printed media. The children didn’t put themselves in this situation but their mother, as their protector, is not protecting them. Yes, it’s ****ty of people to slag off the children when they’re nothing more than a defenseless child, but as their parent it’s up to her to keep them safe, and shield them from situations that leave them vulnerable.

Of course, that wouldn’t work because she needs them to strong arm the government into giving her a forever house in a location of her choice, while the rest of us work, commute and wait and wait to start our own families because we’re too consumed with paying for hers.

All I get from your post is it's not right to attack her kids but ....( insert excuse) . I'm parking it there .

Perhaps I'm being completely naive here, but there seems to be a relatively simple solution to this housing crisis (not sure "homeless" crisis is factually correct). To all these people (particularly those of Margaret Cash's ilk), let the government offer them a house in Roscommon/Leitrim etc. No disrespect to the people of those counties, but there are plenty of vacant houses in those counties which the government could purchase at a fraction of the cost to build social housing in Dublin. Why should these people be given a free house in an over-saturated market? It literally is a case of beggars can't be choosers. Sure, if the government offer them a free house away from Granny/local school, etc, the optics will look bad. But the government will be fulfilling their role of providing housing. If people don't avail of the offer, then move on to someone who will. I think Cromwell put it best when he said "to hell, or to Connacht!"

You're totally mixing it up we couldn't have that as that's the way those that work have to obide by.

Work in Dublin can't afford to live in Dublin....

Don't work at all but get to live in Dublin.....

Great auld country we live in.

Its down to a shortage of six bedroom houses that this poor woman is homeless and its all our fault. We are not paying enough taxes to provide for all these families .We need to do more now.

In Dublin alone there are 306 whole properties available for rent on AirBnB. Imagine if they were used for the purpose they were built for?
They are. There's people living in them.

Oh, you mean like long term? The homeless can't afford to rent, so how could they afford to pay a mortgage on any of them?
My point is ban use of complete properties for short term lets and get them back in the market for families.
This won't solve the 10,000 people being homeless.

Actually, it'll make it worse, as the hotels won't have spare rooms to house the homeless, because instead of AirBnB, the tourists will stay at the hotels.
To all these people (particularly those of Margaret Cash's ilk), let the government offer them a house in Roscommon/Leitrim etc.
Unfortunately, the homeless in Dublin have to be housed in Dublin.

    Geniune question.

I hear a motion might be put forward for a vote on the right to housing.

If passed does it mean no more paying a mortgage?
