Strikes me as oddd that the host introduces her immediately as "traveller mother of seven". I thought she had settled years ago and had been commenting bad of anyone who brought up her traveller past. You’re really, really stretching this one. Anybody with half a brain and any common sense would realise that the very suggestion is outrageous. Nobody agreed with or backed up that poster and he/she was put firmly in their place.

Do you just want to labour the point because it suits you in trying to derail the thread from the topic at hand? A leech bleeding the system without ever contributing anything back. Or is your tiny mind struggling to get past the notion that nobody agreed with him/her but you still think it might be a stick to beat others with anyway?

I fully agree as I would say 99.9% on here there is a crisis but cash is far from it.

She will never have to sleep rough, worry about bills, rent, cash issues, food(St Vincent will look after that) yada yada yada yada.....

I can't get a house never mind afford to live in Dublin where I work and was brought up.

It's actually quite sad I work full time and have to commute while paying huge rent among other bills.

I get no help and I can't keep up the way it's going as I will never be able to afford to save to buy a home for my family.

Sad really is to be honest.

Was struck by one of the Workers Party banners today. It demanded "Public Housing for All"

Should it not be "Public Housing for those who work their arses off and can't afford to buy a house"

Take someone working minimum wage 50 hours per week and doing their damndest to provide for their family. They'll never afford to buy a house. Shouldn't they be priority for public housing?

Why should their be an automatic right for the state to fund housing for people who are willing to abdicate all responsability for taking care of themselves and their families due to their unwillingness to work and/or make prudent decisions about their lifestyle?

"Public housing for all" is pie in the sky stuff
