    someone wants to know about judicial review ... I can't imagine any judge giving much notice to the tax equivalent of "i didn't know it was a crime".

    Like the criminal code, taxpayers are presumed to be able to make themselves aware of their tax obligations. it isn't anybody's job to hold your hand.
