and went right back to sleep there. Being roasted by the Jags offence

That's what we get for a cowardly punt on 4th and inches when down by 2 scores with 8 minutes to go.

Can’t believe we didn’t sneak it. Offense up against it, and you don’t try get the foot. It works 99% of the time.
That’s a more accurate reflection of the way the game has been.

Well, getting blown out by Jacksonville - along with the Texans getting beaten by a Titans side missing their QB, LT, RT and TE - means last week was not as promising as it first seemed.

What's worrying is that we're kinda hoping to get through the first 4 weeks so that we can get back our 32 year old slot receiver coming off a torn ACL who hasn't played competitive football in almost 20 months, and everything will then be okay.

It's not doomsday, but it's not encouraging either.

No pass rush of any description.
Did well for the turnovers, but coverage has been awful as well. Guys just wide open.

I hoped we would go out and get more for Brady both Offensively and Defensively so he wouldn't have to carry us but we have not.

    - Secondary is still a liability
    - No pass Rush
    - Offensively we can't spread it out
    - Putting non catching TE and FB out on the outside has never worked as a mistmatch but yet we did it too much today and last week.

If we have any ambitions of winning a bowl we need to get help offensively and do something about that defense. Brady can't keep carrying us.

Jesus McCourty. Force him to pass it! What’s the point in letting him run easily for the 1st down!

that was just awful. Clearly passed the line of scrimmage, so go get him. Turning away and following his man when Bortles wasnt even able to throw, just pure dumb

Bortles untouched for the game. Jags receivers wide open all game.
Offense putting Devlin out wide early summed up the offense options.
Not going for it on 4th and a foot summed up the coaching.

We’ll beat more teams like the Texans, but we’ve seen what we now are against one of the better teams. Trades needed.

I had that game marked down as one of our losses this season so I'm not going get worried by it.

We just have to get through the next two weeks without Edelman and things should prove for the offense.

I'm hopeful that Coleman will work out, it'll take him a few weeks to get with the playbook and then we'll find out if he has just been unfortunate in bad situations before he got to New England.

Woeful efforts across the board. Offense stunk, one of those McDaniels games that makes you want to put a fist thru the tv. At least Sony saw the field, looked decent I guess.

Defense is just trash. No speed, completely incapable of generating a pass rush. God what I'd give for Jones or Collins at this stage.

Was only able to watch some of the first half last night, we looked terrible.
Is it just me or is Brady getting jumpier over pass rushes?
Normally you expect him to slide around the pocket and get an extra second to through, from what I saw last night he was getting rid of the ball as soon as the pocket got squeezed...

He was a bit edgy in the first half, but give how the OL started, I don't blame him. He seemed fine in the 2nd half, but the options outside of Gronk (who drew a lot of double coverage) highlighted why we've brought in so many WRs (with more to come I suspect).

When the Jags walk all over your D, without their best RB; you know where the issues are.

We wont go for Gordon that is for sure the price will be too high

I’d question the sanity of anyone giving multiple high picks for the guy; his record shows he can’t be trusted.

Where is the multiple high pick talk coming from?

Browns themselves are expecting it according to multiple sources. On my phone so cant quote it

Can't find anything like that from a legitimate source so if you can quote it when you can it would be appreciated.

Closest I've seen is Rapoport who said the Browns expect it to be 'legit' but then clarifies it in his video that he thinks it means a 4th or 5th, potentially them being conditional.

I wouldn't even spend that on Gordan...
His talent is unquestionable, but he can't be relied upon at all. You'd get better value from a 6th round pick....

Most of them have come off that legit response. I never said the Brown are looking for high picks though to be fair I said the Patriot wont spend high on his and even 4th and 5th are too high. Can't see us biting on him. But some team will throw the house at the Browns for him like they always do.

I saw something from Rapoport, and figured the legit bit meant they were expecting something high (like a 2 and a 3).
I didn't see the 4th or 5th bit. I'd easily give that if it meant Devlin wasn't routinely being targeted.

We seem to be taking more chances with trades these past couple of years so you'd never know. I'd love it for a 5th round pick, rising to a 4th if he's still on the roster at a certain point before the draft.

That's based purely on his talent though. Hard to predict which receivers can / can't pick up our playbook. It's also been a while since we had a WR that wasn't somewhat versatile. Gordon seems pretty much exclusively a Z receiver.

And obviously there's some crazy off-field worries about him that prevent him from playing too regularly for my liking.

As much as I wish we could get a mentally sound Josh Gordon I don’t think that’s reality. And from Gordon’s perspective I don’t think the tough love approach from BB would be a good fit for him right now. He’d need a lot of coddling and encouragement to rebound and I don’t think he’d get that in NE

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 828 ✭✭✭JaMarcus

Could you imagine him knocking on Belichick's door looking for a couple of weeks off training camp? :pac:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,905 ✭✭✭TOss Sweep

I actually think Gordon needs to be told what to do. I think the Browns have been way too soft on him. Push the guy. If he is not right mentally he will fail every where he goes at this point. Teams need to be straight with him and say 1 more chance dude f**k with it and you are done in the NFL.
