1. What is your budget? [€700]

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? [Accounts Production & Data Entry to work from home when possible, Light Gaming - Overwatch, maybe a few RTS games]

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? [Yes]

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? [No]

5. Do you need a monitor? [Yes - But I can use my TV for the moment if its better to spend the money on other parts for the moment]

5a. If yes, what size do you need. [N/A]

5b. If no, what resolution is your current monitor and do you plan to upgrade in the near future? [See above]

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? [Have mouse, keyboard and Astro A50s]

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? [Don't know]

8. How can you pay? [Paypal/Credit Card/Cash]

9. When are you purchasing? [No rush]

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? [Wexford. Have someone to help put it all together]

I won't be doing much gaming bar the odd FPS and maybe a few of the older RTS games.

Would you think I'd need the 1060 over the 1050ti for the small amount of gaming I'd be doing or is it just a better investment?

Could order the graphics card tomorrow evening before that offer expires and add the other bits over the next few weeks.

Western Digital M2 SATA is 48% off on Amazon at the minute as well so I think I could buy the 120GB and install the OS on it?

It's a small budget including a monitor, and certain types of games are pretty horrible to try and play on a TV with keyboard/mouse (though I've a few friends do just that).

For RTS games and Overwatch, a 1050Ti is more than fine, Overwatch for example definitely runs at 1080p ultra 60fps.

A GTX1060 3GB would be faster naturally (and that's a great EVGA deal), though the lower vram/core speed than the 6GB model is a pain - could also look into RX580 4 or 8GB models if in that ballpark though again the value will be far worse compared to EVGA promo.

KO's build looks good, can't fault it - possible upgrades to max the budget are either upping to the EVGA GTX1060 6GB deal, or getting the Ryzen 1600 instead of 1400, though there's no wrong answers there really.

Thanks Terror. The monitor doesn't have to be included in the €700 because I can probably borrow one for a while until I get one myself.

If it's something that will last a little longer then I can adjust my budget a small bit (10-15%).

If you can go up 10% in budget & leave out monitor, you can definitely get a superbly future-proofed machine.

For an extra 20 it can't hurt but it'll make zero difference really to games or general use, would only show benefits in heavy productivity tasks.

But for the sake of 20, and considering it comes with a LED-ring cooler (nice if you have a windowed case), I would say why not.

That PC in Currys is very good value for a shop-bought PC but the i5-7400 is very limiting in quite a few of the very latest games (and even some older very CPU punishing titles) due to being quad core/quad thread (Ryzen 1600 is 6/12, for example).

I think the price was just making it more attractive. I'd say I'm 95% building the one posted above and order the 1060 bundle and Ryzen 1700 tonight. I'll add the other bits over the next month or so.

Terror just to jump back in here. Do I need the Be Quiet if I got the cooler with the Ryzen? Or are they different fans for cooling different parts?

Both coolers are for the CPU, the Be Quiet is just better.
